Firefox 50.1.0 Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS, Trusty Tahr

I'm trying to open a RDP Session from a link on a website. When I click the link, it creates a .RDP file, but does not open a RDP Session. I have tried a couple of different programs, but I cannot find one that will automatically open the .RDP file and launch the RDP Session. I'm trying to connect to a Connection Broker server with Windows Server 2016. I was able to use RDESKTOP to be able to RDP to the server, but from what I have read/tried, RDESKTOP will not automatically open a RDP Session from website. Unless I missed something.

Is there a Firefox Addon/Extension or Linux program that will be able to automatically launch a RDP Session when the link is clicked?

Thanks
