FF password manager vs. 3rd party applications
I’ve been working on getting all my web ID’s and Passwords organized for a few months now but I want to decide on my best final solution. Now, I have Roboform V6 that I don’t use except to open as a standalone app at times to get at a save passcard, and I have several logins saved in FF. I also have various text files where I’ve just written a lot of info for later organization.
I’ve noticed that no matter what I use, no password manager works with all web sites. Two step sign-ins are often a problem. I like RF because it can store multiple accounts for a single site, and it doesn’t fill in the login fields until you tell it to. With FF, the login form just shows up already populated. I don’t need all the other stuff, like form filling.
So – does FF allow the use of multiple logins for the same site, or is there an addon? Is there any way – built in or add on to not fill in the fields until I choose to?

Thanks much for your repose and sorry for taking so long to follow up. You confirmed what I was thinking plus some additional info I found out since. FF will store multiple passwords for the same site – I’ve confirmed this by first logging in to a site with a different account, and FF offers to save it because it’s a different username. If it’s the same username and I’m updating the pw FF will offer to update it. That works well. Then, when I revisit the site, the login fields will contain whatever I last used. I did test by changing the username, and it will insert the correct password. I haven’t tested by just entering part or just the first letter of the username.
I agree about the banking sites. I do think that Roboform is more secure than browsers, but I just don’t want to pay another $35 to upgrade to version 7. Plus it needs its own toolbar, had a lot of nice features like automatic form filling, but I never used those anyway. And, I got an upgrade popup every time I opened my browser.

I have not actually tried this recently but I do recall Firefox will store multiple entries for a site on separate lines. When there are multiple entries for the site username or password I do not remember whether they were offered as alternatives, or perhaps needed you to key in the first letter.

I am not sure that the Firefox master password system should be regarded as highly secure. Personally I do not for instance put banking passwords into Firefox's system. You may have noted Goolge Chrome refused to offer a Master Password System saying something along the lines that it could never be made secure if any third party had access to the computer account.
