Can I somehow disable the "sync encountered an error" message?

I'm using Sync successfully to keep my netbook and home PC in sync. The netbook uses a GSM modem for connectivity and it takes a good minute to connect to the net after bringing it back from standby.

As result, every time I open my Netbook, the "sync encountered an error" message greets me. Well, duh, obviously it did, because there was no network connection! "Sync will automatically retry this action" - and it does, and it does sync just fine, but if I don't close the message every time, it will stay there long after its reason passed.

Can it be made so that Sync isn't so persistent about informing me about its problems whenever a fully expectable network outage occurs? Especially that with Netbooks, the vertical screen estate is already scarce and as more and more websites (yours included) start including their persistent "title bars" having to dismiss what amounts to a completely useless toolbar every time I open the netbook lid is really annoying.
