I experience an issue, where opening and/or saving .ics calendar files attached in the emails is not possible. Instead it is opened or saved as text or HTML. There is no issue on using another mail clients/webmail. Is this common issue or only from my mail provider? (infomaniak)

I recently upgraded from TB 69 to the latest TB (after a crucial add-on finally got updated), and I'm generally happy with it, except for one little irk:

In Classic layout, the preview pane now contain multiple messages. As far as I can tell, it contains all messages of the selected thread, in date order (not in message list order). I would prefer the preview pane to contain just ONE message, namely the currently selected message. It is annoying to have to click repeatedly inside the preview pane to access the individual messages in the preview pane. It is also visually confusing (to me).

What's worse, the messages in the preview pane do not follow the normal threading: they appear to be shown in order of date, not in the order of the messages in the message list.

In the screenshot, you can see the thread has 11 messages, and in the message list there are three subthreads. The preview pane also shows the 11 messages, but not in the same order as in the message list. Plus, in order for me to read any messages, I need to click inside the preview pane to fold each message in or out.

I prefer a situation where I can click a single message in the message list, and a single message is shown in the preview pane. Is this possible with the latest TB?

I have lost all emails from 2008 to 2021 and most emails from 2021 to 2023.

I use the local folder to store old emails that do not fit in the main email account. I have deleted all old emails on my email server (account) assuming that those old emails are stored in the local folder. If thunderbird for some reason delete all emails in the local folder that are removed from the main account then I have a problem.

Is it possible to regain the emails from 2008 to 2023 by some means.

I guess that it could be possible by adding some backup if thunderbird lost them.

Nothing about the outgoing server. I'm using Windows 11 and I think the latest Thunderbird version. I really need help to get past this. Further, when I attempt to send with "Control - Enter " keys, The error message uses the wrong server name.

None make any difference. I can right click on the attachment and the menu says open, save etc. click on open and nothing happens.

the button is grayed out & there is no send function 

i did have my address book avail but it is not visible either ( this is another issue i have ) i did move from another profile

don`t know how to fix either 

both profiles have the following files in them which do i have to copy & paste or overwrite see attach

ARRRGGGH! I've been using Thunderbird for over 20 years and it's doing something new and BAD:

Every time I open it since yesterday, it keeps adding additional inboxes (7), drafts boxes (3), sent boxes (2) and junk boxes (6) and trash boxes (2). I don't know how to get rid of all of the extra folders. My profile is backed up, I just tried deleting the program and installing the latest version and it opened the profile (I thought it'd open a default profile and then I could reinstall the "real" profile). What's happening and how can I fix it? No, this does not have anything to do with multiple email accounts and I haven't added any new ones. Please help!

I have used Thunderbird for years. This week I bought a new laptop and downloaded Thunderbird on it, but realized that my address books aren't there. So I opened my old computer to try to transfer them but could not figure out how to export the address books to the new computer. I found a link re exporting address books for Thunderbird on lifewire.com, but the instruction steps do not correspond to my "old" Thunderbird interface. Fiddling around with that has not revealed steps that will make it work. This could be serious. Any ideas?

I have rebooted my PC in hope that the problem would correct itself, but no luck. Thanks for any help you can offer.

I have the Android T-bird app on my Google Pixel 9.

I am having constant problems with it not syncing.

This morning, when I swiped down, the kept spinning but did not connect. When i tapped the sync icon at the bottom left of the screen, nothing!

Nothing changed after rebooting the phone, which BTW takes almost twice as long as the reboot on my previous Samsung phones.

I have now uninstalled and reinstalled, and imported my settings using the QR code on my desktop. It imported my accounts, but asked me to sign in or sign in later. There is no link for signing in immediately, and sign in later does not allow any sign in opportunity.

I now have no emails imported to the app.

Any help would be appreciated

I'm trying to transfer to a new computer. The instructions say to copy your profile folders in imap roaming to a new computer and everything will be there. But the local folders are not there. The instructions also say the data from addons is stored in the profiles folder, but that didn't seem to transfer either. Nor did message filters. Then I saw a post where they said to go up 3 levels from the profiles folder and copy all that. Is that right? But it also says the local folders should be under local/thunderbird instead of roaming/mozilla thunderbird. And I don't see any mailbox folders there.

Also supposedly you are supposed to be able to go to a command window and type thunderbird -P "profile" to open a specific one, but when I do that it doesn't show me the profile names, just default, default-esr, and default-esr1. But I have multiple profiles on my computer so I am unable to choose the different ones.

Seaching through past posts is sometimes not useful because they refer to old versions of TB.

A few more details: I loaded TB fresh on a new computer and ended up with 2 profiles. Not sure why. But I already had 2 profiles on my old computer which contain all the personalization so I'm trying to move. One of the 2 on the old computer contains local folders I've never been able to figure out how to bring back into my current profile, instead of having to go into that profile when I want to look at local folders. (I did that because Thunderbird performance was really suffering with large local folders, but I'm hoping that problem is solved now. What I would like to do is combine all the local folders from the 2 old profiles into one and make that the active one on my new computer. I'm sure there is a way I can move the local message files, I remember doing this many years ago, but the file extensions changed since then and I need to know which ones to move. THANKS!

Hello, I just organized Thunderbird mobile on my Samsung tablet. On the desktop, Thunderbird shows a menu and a address book. When I get an Email I can save the mail address in my address book. Hallo, kürzlich habe ich Thunderbird mobil auf meinem Samsung Tablet installiert. Leider zeigt die App keine Menüleiste und keine Option eines Adressbuches. Dazu greift Thunderbird auch nicht auf gespeicherte Kontakte zu. Bei der Desktopversion wird sowohl die Menüleiste als auch ein Adressbuch angezeigt. I'm having trouble with my Samsung Email app. For some reason, my emails are not syncing properly. I’ve noticed that new emails are not coming in unless I manually refresh the app. This has been going on for a while, and it’s causing me to miss important messages. I’ve tried restarting my phone and checking the internet connection, but nothing seems to work. I'm not sure if it's an issue with the app settings or something else. Is anyone else facing this issue? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!

Witajcie, Mam taki problem z odebranymi wiadomościami w Thunderbird 128.9.2esr (64 bits). Thunderbid z niewiadomych przyczyn losowo miesza treść odebranych wiadomości i przyporządkowuje je do innych wiadomości. W załączniku przesyłam print screen jak to wygląda. Jak widać odebrałem wiadomość z adresu: j.cichecka@.......pl o tytule Faktura VAT - sprzedaży nr. 7/03/2025/WYN. Po podświetleniu tej wiadomości w treści maila poniżej widzę niewłaściwą treść z innego maila od T-Mobile otrzymanego z adresu twoja_f@.......pl natomiast tytuł maila jest z wiadomości otrzymanej z adresu j.cichecka@.......pl (taki jak widać w liście Tematów wyżej). W ten sposób ginie mi mnóstwo wiadomości, których treści nie mogę odczytać bo znajduje się tam treść maili z innych wiadomości. Czy ktoś spotkał się z podobnym problemem i zna rozwiązanie jak to naprawić? Dziękuję Pozdrawiam Marcin
