why do I get this on new download

I find now that Thunderbird requires Earthlink's password each time an email is sent. Earlier it required it once a day. I am on Windows 11 using Earthlink.net for provider.

TB recently prints unwanted text/information, this also happens while forwarding certain e-mails. As shown in the attachment TB wants to print seven pages although the original mail has only one.

What can we do?

I want to change the default download protocol accessing the mail server from imap to pop3. I went into the account settings & changed the default selection from imap to pop3. But the change does not take effect. Tbird still accesses the server using the imap protocol.

Email will not send. Message-- "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Email rejected. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again." I am not sending to another person but testing with my personal email. Thank you.

I have connected a Google Workspace (Gmail) account to Thunderbird, let's call it scott.harper@myorg.org. I am able to send, receive, and reply from this account as expected.

In my Google Workspace configuration, I have an alias address forwarded to my account, let's call it info@myorg.org. I receive messages addressed to "info" just fine. But when I send or reply to messages addressed to "info", I'm running into a problem.

In the Account Setting I opened Manage Identities, and added info@myorg.org as an alternate identity. I then edited the Private Data for that identity so that the "Reply from this identity when delivery headers match" option is checked, and set to match info@myorg.org. See attached image.

When I reply to an incoming message, the From field appears to be (sort of) correct... it shows from info@myorg.org, but next to it (in italics) is the primary account identity, scott.harper@myorg.org. See the other attached image. This is also the case when I compose a new message and select the info identity.

In both cases, when the message arrives at the destination inbox, it is from scott.harper@myorg.org instead of "info".

I'm assuming I don't have the matching rule, or some other setting configured correctly. Would appreciate any other tips/ideas.

When I start Thunderbird, the same message is downloaded each time.

The status bar then reads "Downloading message 2 of 17," except that 17 is now up to 27.

Thunderbird remains in this state. No second message is ever downloaded.

When I close down and restart Thunderbird, it's Groundhog Day all over again.

Trying "Clear Recent History" has no effect on the issue.

I am on Thunderbird 150.0.2 (64-bit) on the release update channel. I'm on a Windows 11 HP Envy Laptop purchased in July 2025.

For some reason since reinstalling my Thunderbird every time I try to sen e-mail I get the error "Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: <SantoshS1@vbeyond.com>: Recipient address rejected: Access denied. Please check the message recipient "SantoshS1@vbeyond.com" and try again.

They are perfectly valid addresses, as they are generated using Reply. This did not happen before I was forced to reinstall from scratch. I suspect it may be some sort of issue with my account configuration in Thunderbird, as I had to recreate that.

Not sure what has happened to my PC but lost my Thunderbird app.

Reinstalled but cannot get my emails working again. I only get emails up to 13th May 2024; I guess when TSO Hosting finished?

I am now on 123 Hosting.

I have a note that SERVER for both i.e. Incoming and outgoing is:-

Where and in what format do I enter theses server details.

I think I also need to get into cPanel but the URL I have will not work:-

The message was composed using a translator I have 3 mail for work. 1 personal, 2 shared There are no problems with my personal email. I can't send messages from two other emails, and I get an error

Hi. I have four gmail accounts and use a desktop pc runnings windows 11. I have been using thunderbird as my desktop email client for many years, but recently, something has changed. My incoming emails are not formatted correctly and the links in them do not work. I'm not sure I am saying that correctly, so I will attach a screenshot. I would love some advice on how to fix this! I have just set up Thunderbird on a new Windows 11 PC. So far as I can tell I have filled in the server details correctly. I can receive incoming mail. However, it fails to send emails out - I have tried a couple which I know are correct. Error message is: Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: <<snip>>: Relay access denied.

Please check the message recipient "<snip>" and try again.

(I've removed the actual mail address from the error message.) I've read the answers to previous versions of this query and made the correction as suggested. This hasn't helped. Any suggestions please? Many thanks, Roger Moore

Just installed a new hard drive and windows 11. Installed Thunderbird, which I have used for years. Began receiving e-mail right away. Have tried to send several e-mails but I get an error message saying mail server responded: relay access denied Please check message recipient and try again. The e-mail for the recipient is correct and I have tried to send to others with the same result.

Do not know if it is a windows error, an smtp error or a Thunderbird error. My web host gave me the proper settings for incoming and out going mail. They are the same as I had for windows 10 which worked forever.

This isn't a crash, but it's an error that keeps happening as I'm typing my email. It's a problem with saving drafts. The error message reads : Error while saving draft. The configured key id "0x8DC635DD33C6A871" cannot be found on your keyring.

I can't type an email longer than say 30 seconds without this error constantly coming up until I send the email. (Needless to say I also can't save to drafts)

Uninstalled and reinstalled Thunderbird and same problem.

My computer was wiped and I imported my last profile when installing Thunderbird.

Would not want to lose all my email in order to start a fresh profile :(

Also, as I was went looking for the version of Thunderbird I noticed it seems to be having trouble doing an update. I'm using the release update channel.

Been using Thunderbird for 25 years and never had this issue before.
