Hi, this issue has been present for a long time for me, and with many versions of Firefox Nightly for Android.

I'm always using the latest nightly for browsing Youtube only, with a set of specific settings and addons (since we can't use profiles on Android yet)

My problem is I've configured the Homepage to never show anything but a few URLs I chose to pin, you can see my settings and my homepage in the screenshots attached.

Despite the "Recently visited" setting being disabled, sometimes, but not everytime, the last pages I visited are added to the Homepage, after the pinned sites. I have no idea what triggers it or not, if I'm doing something wrong or if it's a bug.

I thought half my apps were gone randomly, then I realized they are all the ones that were web pages Saved to Home Screen, by Firefox! I'm very upset because there's no way I can remember all of them, how can I restore?? Android, no desktop fixes please!

I'm on Android 13. When I'm trying to add website's shortcut on the home screen it doesn't adds. There is button "Add to home screen" but when i tap on it and press "Add" button nothing happens.

I have used Firefox since late 2004, and nothing else. No problems until now.

Android 14 and Firefox mobile I think version 123.

It is updated. When I'm on a website, like USPS and accessesed Informed Delivery, I tell Firefox to Add To Home screen so I can quickly access mail and packages coming today.

Has always worked fine. Now, none of my manufacturered/created Firefox shortcuts will do anything. I cleared the Firefox cache, and forced stopped. I don't know if cleaning the data or reinstalling the whole app will help.

I then deleted data and uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, but nothing changed.

I tried earlier versions but got a notification off it wasn't compatible with my version on Android.

I'm recovering from a stroke and these lost shortcuts stored on my homescreen were vital to communicating with my doctors, therapists, outpatient rehab, hospitals, etc. I'm lost without them.

Any suggestions or reasons for this are appreciated. Thank you

After installing a shortcut to a website that stages as an app through the Firefox Android app (Samsung 6.0, Android 14) when using said shortcut, if entering any text box the keyboard will pop up and rapidly close and open, making it unable to use. This problem happens on any text box, and with any keyboard. I'll attach a youtube link of a screen recording as well as a gif, though it's rather difficult to see the entire problem through a gif. merry christmas all ... in bookmarks why can't you organise them the way you want to ie: move them up or down in the order you want them... I can't find a way of doing it. and secondly on the homepage in the image I have uploaded why is there so much wasted space? and you can only have 2 rows of shortcuts. I am using the app on my phone and tablet which are both samsung galaxy phone is A34 5G and the tablet A8 thank you very much

When Adding a Shortcut to the Android Home Screen, it allows you with a pop-up option to Rename the Shortcut before placing it on your Home Screen.

However, when attempting to Install a Progressive Web App (from compatible Web App web sites), and clicking Install, it does NOT give you the opportunity to Rename the Shortcut.

In contrast, Chrome/Android allows the name change in both cases (non-Web App and Web App sites).

Is this feature in the works on FireFox Android?

Is there a work-around to Rename Shortcuts either before or after placing them on the Home Screen ?

Favicons for shortcuts added to the startpage do not persist. In other words, when I add a shortcut to the startpage, the shortcut initially displays the expected favicon for the respective site. However, when I leave the startpage and then come back, the shortcut favicons are no longer displayed. Instead, the shortcut is simply a colored box containing the first letter in the name of the website. I have already tried the prosaic troubleshooting meaure of deleting the app cache (to no avail), and I am using the most up-to-date version of Firefox on Android. Any other ideas, or is this a bug?

While adding a website shortcut to my home screen on Android, I changed the name (to be shown on the home screen). I later decided to use a slightly different name, so I removed the shortcut and added it again, entering the new name. Nevertheless, the shortcut is now always added with the original custom name. This is also the case when I leave the name unchanged in a later attempt. I get the same results with multiple sites. I get the same results after closing Firefox, restarting my phone and emptying the Firefox cache. Even thought the shortcut on the home screen is probably not actually a bookmark, I tried bookmarking the site, and changing the name of the existing bookmark - with the same results. Is there a way I can choose a different name for the home screen shortcut, or this a bug? Background: I am now manually adding shortcuts to my home screen after getting a new phone (Pixel 7a). I had have mostly the same shortcuts on my previous phone (Pixel 3a XL). The shortcuts were kind-of(!) transferred to my new phone: they appear in the same home screen folders as on my old phone, but gray. When I try to open them, I get the message: "Couldn't restore shortcut because app doesn't backup and restore". Is there a way to transfer (all) home screen shortcuts? If not, please consider adding support for backup or automatic migration.

Im a regular user of Firefox Mobile and also Firefox PC. I'm missing a very important feature in "Firefox Mobile" is Shortcuts are not Coustomizable i can't order them and also shortcut isn't "Synchronized" with Firefox Account which is really frustrating. Became "Vivaldi" & some other browsers have this features!!! I used firefox like 2years but, If i want these features i have to shift from firefox to other browsers, which i don't want to. So Please Solve my problem and make me mozilian forever.

i have pinned shortcuts on mac. they do not sync with with my android. i cannot change any shortcuts on mobile. when removing them other ones pop up. is there any way so both of the devices have the same shortcuts

I've been reusing android firefox again lately and I noticed I would have a bunch of tabs at a time. Then I realized that it was because whenever I would click a shortcut from the search screen it would open the page in a new tab instead of staying on the current tab. Is there a way to change this?
