Yesterday, I was in the Palm Desert, CA and La Quinta areas with my T-Mobile phone, an Android device. I was using both Chrome and Firefox, one at a time, being sure to have closed the other. I experienced a problem where Firefox reported my location as some 150 miles away in Los Angeles area, while the same phone in the exact same location while using Chrome showed my location correctly (Chrome also matched Google Maps location). Both Chrome and Firefox are enabled to use use high precision GPS. The first two images show ridiculous distance variance. I also have an older Android phone I also tried the same experiment on with it, but I saw that Firefox did not have that same problem on the older Android phone. My question is did Google change something or did Firefox? Google has demonstrated itself to be so dishonest and untrustworthy in recent years that if I were to bet, I would bet that Google in its latest release of Android is blocking Firefox from receiving accurate coordinates or passing essentially garbage coordinates to Firefox. I later ran a similar test from the FedEx on 111 in Palm Desert. The third screenshot from GoogleMaps shows my location in Palm Desert on Hwy111. However, Firefox showed the nearest course to be in Santa Ana. Google Chrome showed it within a mile.
