My laptop with Windows 10 and Firefox v98.0.2 accesses https://192.168.0.253:10000/ just fine. Why is it that my desktop with Windows 10 and Firefox v98.0.2 cannot?

donthavecow, I have "DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials" turned on, but I turned it off and still have the problem.

I only get the error code: "Error code: SSL_ERROR_UNSUPPORTED_VERSION" and there is no option to "take a chance"

Current releases no longer support TLS 1.0 and 1.1, only TLS 1.2 and 1.3 is supported. Your error message seems to indicate that only 1.0 and 1.1 is supported.

What protocol do other browsers use ? Does that device support TLS 1,2 or TLS 1.3 ?

cor-el,

Edge doesn't work on either my desktop or laptop I don't have Internet Explorer on the desktop, but Internet Explorer does work on the laptop, if I use "take a chance" option

Comment -- Since my desktop is accessing my filtering appliance sitting 2 feet away, Firefox should offer the option, which I've been doing for the past 18 years.

You can temporarily set security.tls.version.enable-deprecated = true on the about:config page to see if that has effect. You shouldn't leave this pref set to true, but normally have it set to false (default) and only enable it when really needed.

Try to rename the cert9.db file (cert9OLD.db) and remove the previously used cert8.db file in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed to remove intermediate certificates and exceptions that Firefox has cached.

If this has helped to solve the problem then you can remove the renamed cert9OLD.db file. Otherwise you can undo the rename and restore cert9.db.

You can use the button on the "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page (Root directory).

I tried using cert9OLD.db but had no success and returned to cert9.db While viewing the whole list, I noticed that 192.168.0.253:10000 is at the top of the list marked True I don't know why it is on this list. Does this give us a clue as to how we can fix the problem? CWR

I noticed that 192.168.0.253:10000 is at the top of the list marked True. Why is this on the list? Should the status be changed? If the status is changed, would it enable the ability to access the filter device on the same LAN as my Windows desktop? CWR
