After I realised how slow my Chrome browser was becoming (sometimes taking more than five minutes to load a website), and being a previous user of Firefox, I decided to come back, but for some reason, when I use it there are a few sites, like Youtube, Facebook, etc which work perfectly fine and load up quickly, but when I try to load up other sites such as rwby.wikia.com and http://www.skillsyouneed.com/ips/improving-communication.html, I am unable to access the site.

My connection is normally two bars (due to me being quite far from the router) and my connection speed is reasonably good for how far away I am from the access point. Chrome would take a long time, but would load up the sites I'm accessing and Opera connects with no problems, but I'm not a fan of Opera as much as Forefox.

When I attempt to connect through a website the browser makes a connection attempt and displays a grey circle orbiting a certerpoint before it displays the 'connecting' text in the tab at the top of the screen and then just goes back to how it was before I clicked the link. There is no error message and all my other internet-based applications work as they should (besides Chrome) and due to this I believe that it is a problem with Firefox. If there is anyone around who knows what I can do to fix this can you please tell me and let me know what I can provide to help aid the process.

Thanks for helping, but I'm afraid that clearing the cache didn't help the situation and I'm not experiencing an indefinite loading messade, after about ten seconds, Firefox just reverts the browser tab back to how it was before it started loading.

If it only loads/connects if you are closer to the router, I would call the ISP to see if they have any tips on how to extend the radius of your wifi connection. I am sorry I could not be more helpful.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.
