I've been changing this over many years. Now I have two additional browsers to use so I'm not updating until I can, once again, organize the browser to fit my needs.

I have multiple listings of the same device when i use the "sent tab" service. The "ubuntu" devices are the same pc, just that i had to reinstall the OS 3 times and signed in to FF every time. Same thing with "fudge brownie". The duplicates do not show on the "my devices" list. Any way to remove them from the list?

I am sending tabs from Firefox mobile to Firefox desktop (Arch Linux) (on a regular base for years). All worked fine. After a new install two weeks ago the Firefox desktop receives the tabs and opens them as supposed. But after a day or three when I open Firefox desktop it opens all previous tabs again together with the newly sent tabs. I deleted the Firefox profile and installed from Firefox sync but the problem occurs. I deleted all devices in sync and added my 2 devices (desktop and mobile) again but it didn't work. Does anybody have a similar problem (and a solution)?

I don't know if this is a problem with my installation, but websites without specific favicons (e.g.: https://forum.librivox.org/index.php?sid=fd7dca1ba59c207dd25121695677d565) don't have a placeholder icon in the tab. Is this intended behavior? There's the globe icon for bookmarks without favicons, couldn't that be used if a website doesn't have one? I think that would contribute to some visual consistency :)

I have looked across various support forums for information on this, I only see posts regarding favicons and bookmarks, not the tab itself, so apologies if this has been asked and answered already!

Why is there now no option to close present tab only when clicking on X. The old (default) warning was excellent. With no warning, clicking the X kills Firefox - and all open tabs. This has lost me hours of work already. i certainly don't want to go down the route of restoring all tabs first. I can't rely on it, for instance, holding all comments made on a form. And for that matter, I wouldn't want that to reinstate a login.

Please can we return to the warning with 2 options Close all tabs and Close current tab only.

Recently i found that the memory usage can be very large when watching live-stream,tried many ways to fix but none of them was useful. Then i found the new function of "minimize memory usage" button,it is useful,but not so convenient.Can you please add a new way to use this function? Like: set a number of memory usage(for example 256000KB),when reach this number trigger the "minimize memory usage".Then it will be like "auto minimize memory usage". Or,you can just set an UI button on the toolbar to trigger "minimize memory usage".

When i have like 50+ tabs pinned then firefox breaks and we cannot scroll tabs anymore. Of course closing tabs doesn;t work with Ctrl+W, but then we need some different shortcut for closing pinned tabs (like for example Ctrl + Shift + W) or just you fixing this bug ;) I attach 2 screenshots that show what happens with Firefox when having too many tabs pinned. I can't navigate through tabs anymore.

I've tried everything I could find , to add to my userChrome.css or to change about_config, but to no avail .

Bookmarks in Firefox use ellipsis , is there any way to use them in tabs as well ?

My browser just updated to version 100.0 and now there's a big white block at the top that blocks access to tabs and the Minimize/Maximize/Close buttons at the top.

I found a few other articles going back to 2015 with this same issue and the only solution that helped a tiny bit was checking or unchecking the Title Bar box. Unchecking it helps a little bit as you can see in the attached screenshot.

The top of the image is with the Title Bar box checked, the bottom of the image is with that box unchecked.

Any idea how to resolve this?

I've recently made the switch to Firefox coming from Opera, and there's a few behaviours I'm missing / haven't figured out how to set up to match what I'm used to. Could someone point me in the right direction?

1) When I click an external link (e.g. in Discord) to open in browser (Firefox is now default), it opens the link but it overrides the currently selected tab rather than opening a new tab.

2) Following on from that, clicking the link also doesn't make Firefox the active window. Previously if I opened a new link from elsewhere, the other browser would come to the front. Can Firefox do that too?

I currently have it set so that opening a link in a new tab doesn't switch to that tab. Which is behaviour I want (if I'm doing that in Firefox itself).

I'm having an issue every few months, where I usually keep Firefox open with 10 or so tabs as pinned and sometimes I open a new window for something else on another monitor. When closing the PC, I generally close on my main monitor and forget about the new window, so I lost all tabs. Because I use Open previous windows and tabs. How can I recover the window with my tabs without having to always go into sessionstore-backups folder and restore manually with the scrounger from the recovery file?

I use FF with the setting on start to restore the tabs of the last session.

Now I need a specific tab active/focused on start. (It is a WebRTC for our phone system and if it not focused at start ring tone will not be played)

Is there a way to start with my last opened tabs restored but this specific tab active and in selected/focused.

Pinning this tab seems to load it but WILL not play a ringtone without clicked first. If I end FF with this tab active and therefore the tab is active on next start the ring tone will be played.

But knowing me I WILL forget to click on this tab either on start or before ending FF.

My laptop had to do a restart and I have about 10 pinned tabs and I went to open firefox and they are all gone. I've tried to do the restore session but they aren't popping back up. How do I get them back???

I am wondering if it is at all possible to adjust the settings when pulling a tab into a new window. For example, if I am running Firefox fullscreen I would like the tab that I pull to be opened in windowed form. I noticed that this is typically the case when using Chromium-based browsers, but noticed that on Firefox it stays in the format as the previous window. (if already windowed the pulled tab will also be windowed) is there a way to ensure that the pulled tab will always be windowed?

When FF on my Windows 10 machine crashed FF asked if I wanted to refresh FF. I said yes, and FF reopened as usual with all my tabs. After I closed and reopened FF the next time, it reopened without any of my tabs. I then discovered that FF had unchecked the “Startup Open previous windows and tabs” box, which I had previously religiously monitored to be sure it was checked. So I lost all my previous tabs.

In my sessionstore-backups folder I found the file upgrade.jsonlz4-20 as last in a list of three more recent file names. I then dropped the file upgrade.jsonlz4-20 in the scrounger tool on this site: https://www.jeffersonscher.com/ffu/scrounger.html. It expanded in the big window, and when I clicked on Save uncompressed JSON as text, I see all the URLs run together in a text file.

How can I use this information to recover my tabs, please? If so, how? Or is there a better way to use the Scrounger – or another – tool?

Otherwise if I delete the three more recent file names in the list above the upgrade.jsonlz4-20 file, and restart FF will I recover the missing tabs? If so would I the check or uncheck the Startup Open previous windows and tabs box?

Lastly, can I restore my missing tabs using Windows’ “System restore” tool from 3 days before the crash?

Hi there,

"When you open a link, image or media in a new tab, switch to it immediately" is happening - even though the box is unchecked. Only in favorites bar, not in web page or Firefox homepage Shortcuts (1 row or 2 rows) or Recent activity.

It's very irritating, so i hope there is a solution...?
