Despite Tab Groups not yet being "rolled out" in Australia, I am wondering if "Container Tabs" will still be Supported (in the following ways):

1. Will Container Tabs still be able to be used effectively in concurrence with Tab Groups? 2. Is it planned that Tab Groups is being developed to replace Container Tabs? 3. If one will be able to use Container Tabs concurrently with Tab Groups, can different Container Tabs Types be split over different Tab Groups? 4. Is it planned that Tab Groups will supersede Container Tabs in terms of Protection, Privacy, etc.....? 5. Will Tab Groups be able to be put to sleep/hibernate in order that Firefox "speed/memory" is not effected?

Whilst on the subject of Tab Groups and Container Tabs: 6. Up until a few updates ago, when the mouse was hovered over a Container Tab, a dialogue box would indicate: the Tab Subject, Site Identity and Container Tab Type. Please bring back the Container Tab Type when the mouse hovers over a Container Tab..! 7. When this (Valuable) information was ceased, the only way to get similar information - namely the Container Tab Type - has been to use the: List all tabs icon {tab icon 2} at the Right hand end of the toolbar. It is a blessing that this was not changed, but still a bit of a nuisance to check them both! Why is this an issue you may well ask? - I am sure I am not the only Firefox user (Forever) - with memory decline!

Can you add a configuration setting to Mozilla Firefox to disable Create New Profile, configurable in the policies.json file? (A second option but a much uglier one would be to disable being able to select a file location for a new profile. Then you could make the default profile directory write only, which would also accomplish the same thing.) (A third option would be to able to configure extensions by default upon installation in the ExtensionSettings policy.)

To explain, I use LeechblockNG on Firefox on Ubuntu. Very helpful. By placing a policies.json file (see at bottom) in /etc/firefox/policies/ directory, I can create a system wide policy. I can make the LeechblockNG extension mandatory and to be installed upon every new profile creation. That all works very well. HOWEVER, there is NO way to be able to set those options in the new profile. So LeechblockNG is installed with default options (which are no blocking at all), which effectively bypasses the addon.

I am also writing the author of the leechblock extension to see if there is any way to set the options for leechblock upon installation (the third option above).

But I know other people have this same question, and at present, if I am correct, there is no way to block new profile creation, or the Profile Manager window in Firefox.

So could you please add that option to the Firefox policies.json configuration? Something like "DisableNewProfiles": true would do it.

A folder on the bookmarks menu that stroes individual bookmarks, fills half the screen of a standard 1080p screen with totally empty white space.

The padding in between each and every single bookmark, in any place that can store bookmarks, will be filled by at least 3 or 4 mm of empty white space. Between every single bookmark.

This is a huge amount of completely pointless scrolling.

If i cant solve this i am going to change browsers. I dont care. I love Firefox and used it since the netscape days in the 90's, but am not going in for another surgery since you people insist of giving people more RSI's.

I have a couple questions on tab groups, I'm a new ms edge refuge but this not as smooth as I would like :). I realize tab groups are oddly new for FF, but I'm trying to get setup and running into two main issues. 1. I cant seem to freely reorder the tab groups, I can move the individual book pages no problem but not the groups as a whole. I would expect to be able to left hold click drag the order of the groups just like individual tabs. 2. Tab groups don't seem to exist across clients (or maybe I'm missing the how). If I open FF on my mac I would expect to see or at least be able to reopen the same tab groups as my windows PC, not just the individual pages from history on other device. Is there a way to do this? 3. can't import tab groups from edge? You don't want to make it easy for folks to switch?

Please add a Custom wallpaper options, Your browser has been the best so far i have used many browsers but i would love to have a custom wallpaper option and live wallpaper option too if possible just like operaGX has. Anyone can upload a wallpaper there.

There is (IMHO) some missing functionality / unwanted feature or call it what you like (bug?).

History -> Manage History

select e.g. Last 7 days, right click on Name and select at least two attributes (you can choose from: Tags, Location,Most Recent Visit, Added and Last Modified)

Select the first entry of the list, all displayed fields are selected/highlighted.

Copy (either with the menu or with Ctrl-C) and paste it in your favourite text editor.

Why is only the URL copied? Other fields were also highlighted. Why are they not included?

This is WYSINWYG (what you see is not what you get).

It is possible to export bookmarks as an html file, so why is this not possible with history?

OK, it is possible to query the sqlite3 database directly to get some history info but it's a bit cumbersome.

To do so,

  copy the sqlite (places.sqlite) database to some safe place then open the database (with 'sqlite3 places.sqlite')
  get the history info you are interested in with a sqlite query,
  e.g. select title,visit_count,site_name,url,description,last_visit_date from moz_places where url like '%support%';

But there is no simple (AFAIK) way to convert 'last_visit_date' (an integer) to something human readable.

So either include the whole selection when something is copied (WYSIWYG) or provide export history as an html file.

I just added Search on Google Lens to my Firefox "Add-ons Extensions" because I need to identify a simple image, but I can't figure out how to make it work. I put my mouse pointer on te image and right click, but I do not get a context menu with a Google Lens choice. What do I need to do to make Google Lens work on my computer?

I FEEL LIKE A TOTAL IDIOT WHEN USING Firefox Browser. It is the only browser I use and I have been using Firefox for 10+ years. I've spent thousands of hours using it but due to my GREAT IGNORANCE of the best way to use and maximize my efficiency, my precious time is being wasted. I FEEL LOST MUCH OF THE TIME. IS IT POSSIBLE ORGANIZED MY USE OF FIREFOX IN A WAY THAT WILL MAKE IT A PLEASURE TO USE? For example my Windows fire Explorer if very organized and based on a logical system that I created. With Firefox I've created hundreds Bookmarks and I've started organized them but it doesn't automatically sort a folders or bookmarks when I put them in and that is a huge inconvenience because I sometimes forget to do that and then I can't find what I need.

I've built computers and installed hardware and complicated software; I've done a little bit of Excel programing as well. I am a well educated person with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, and I also have several post graduate certifications but I feel like Firefox is cumbersome to use. Now that "feeling" has to do with my ignorance most likely SO is there anyone out there who can point this frustrated researcher in the direction that will make me a virtuoso with Firefox? With all the very smart people who invented and maintain Firefox, someone must have created a Firefox course to turn a Firefox user who can get a hundred times more done in a fraction of the time it is currently taking me.

One of the reasons that I like Firefox is it's Privacy protection, but I'm confident that if I were more "edumacated" about the complex subject of privacy I would like "accessorize" my interaction with a world that has plenty of "bad actors out there". Consider this fact: I am a skilled surgeon whose quick hands and mind have been involved involved in multiple acute life threatening injuries. This means that I use a kind of magical thinking that I learned long ago, and that thinking is the difference between life and death for the man whose left renal artery was ruptured in a plane crash. He is losing blood internally and must be treated immediately, He will arrive at trauma center in 10-15 minutes vial helicopter. I am already scrubbed in and ready for his arrival as is my very experienced surgical assistant who has prepared all the surgical instruments organized in the sterile surgical room. Firefox must be like my surgical assistant. Every tool I need for research, for probative accumulation of essential information must be readily, available, so I can focus of the important task of stopping the blood loss quickly. That surgery was done and that 26 year old male survived after I repaired the ruptured left renal artery using endovascular repair via a surgical Goretex stint graft similar to what I have used in repair of aortic aneurysms. Simple when one has the tools at ones fingertips due to well trained support staff. When I am about to write a highly important article or chapter that I will contribute to a book that has several other contributing authors, There are certain tools I need and that depends on whether I'm writing in English, Russian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, or Italian. For example I could in my Bookmarks create project related folders with the specific tabs I would like to have open, the question would be is there a way I can open 5-10 links in a folder, with a minimal of clicking? I'm sure there are other smarter ways to work but I don't know Firefox well enough to know how to shape it around my specialty needs. I stick with Firefox because it is apparently one of the safest browsers. I have installed a few Add-ons and Themes, like "Tree Style Tab" and "Go To Playing Tab" both of which I like. I'm still trying to figure out how to have Google Lens work on my Firefox. I read all the instructions but nothing seems to work. Is it me or is it a problem with Firefox browser, or what?

I'd like to try enabling Tab Groups in Firefox 135.0 (64-bit). But I don't want to risk scrambling my gazillion or so tabs if Tab Groups is not stable.

I'd appreciate some feedback from Firefox users who have enabled Tab Groups.

For desktop Firefox.

Until a couple of weeks ago I could have a search bar next to the address bar.

This allowed me to enter a search request and then see the search result's page with the page's address in the address bar.

If I wanted to repeat the search, or modify the search, the search request would still be in the search bar.

Now I only have the address bar. If the page found by the search isn't what I want I need to re-type the search into the address bar where it will be overwritten by the address of the result of the search.

That can be inconvenient.

I no longer see the option for a separate search bar in Firefox's search settings.

Am I the only person who misses this feature?

Is the separate search bar available if I know how to ask for it?

Is there a setting that prevents Firefox from closing immediately when the X in the upper right corner is clicked? Thinking a question "Are you sure that you want to close Firefox" should pop up. Recently I've closed Firefox accidentally and lost all of my open tabs (I don't keep history).

When will Firefox add Save Page button? Lots of small browsers has that for decades. It helps a lot to save WebPage and view them Offline by oppening the app then browse to saved pages. That fast and easy.

Extension to SaveWeb takes a lot of time and need to open another app to view them.
