I was on a teams meeting because I wanted to do a study session with someone on another country. As part of the homework I needed to do, I needed to listen to some audio. I changed my windows audio devices to output through the Communications device for the headset. Then I played the audio on a tab. The audio played for a few seconds before stopping again.

I understand that this is behaviour intended to let you take a call or meeting without having to manually pause any open tabs you might not have at hand, but I would like Firefox to understand I really want that audio to play without thinking it knows better. Is there any way to disable this behavior?

Since about one year I am unable to use Japanese input only in Firefox. When I try to switch with fcitx and control+space, nothing happens. However, fcitx-mocz works everywhere else on my computer (i.e. terminal, thunderbird, other browsers, etc.). Furthermore, I uninstalled fcitx and everything associated with it and reinstalled it according to this thread: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1367181 (just with mocz for Japanese). This also didn't change anything. Any help is appreciated! My system: Operating System: Linux Mint 20.3 Kernel: Linux 5.15.0-91-generic Architecture: x86-64 fcitx version: 4.2.9.7 Mozilla Firefox 121.0

I recently updated Firefox browser. Since doing so, I get a warning window that pops up after launching Firefox advising that VERIFICATION.EXE "contains a virus or malware."

I assume that verification.exe is associated with Firefox. What am I supposed to do in response to that message?

searching from URL address bar no longer works. Opens search page (start page) instead of results, adding a (unnecessary) step to searching and causing me to have to re-enter my search term. the 2024 trend across the tech industry seems to add unnecessary steps for previously single-step convenient/efficient processes.

The full website link has /users/login, but when I checked the saved passwords, the link stops before the first /, its just websitename.com, instead of wesbsitename.com/users/login, and I suspect the full link not being save is whats causing it not to show up. Is there any way to brute force it to show up?

Ever since I installed Firefox 123.0, when I execute a search on Yahoo.com, Firefox automatically opens up a new window or tab (depending upon how you have it set up in settings) when it didn't before. When I try this with Firefox using Google.com to search, it does NOT open up a new window/tab. But when I try it with Yahoo.com when using Google Chrome, it does NOT open up a new tab. So it would appear that the behavior is being caused by something in Firefox.

I tried making various changes in settings and Firefox about:config that were recommended in previous questions here, but they did not alter the behavior. I would like the behavior to return to simply performing the search within the same window (I can always scroll back to get the original page). Can anyone help?

The title describes the problem I'm facing. I don't really use other sites that have videos other than Youtube. But I notice that the videos freeze quite often and audio just continues to play. The videos then unfreeze and skip multiple frames. I've noticed clearing browser cache seems to help but it doesn't help for longer than a 2 min video at best. At worst, it doesn't affect it at all.

Firefox is now opening two windows at startup: one that has my previous session (which I always prefer) and one window with one blank tab. It used to open only the saved session. What can I do do change this. Thank you. (I have Firefox 122 version)

I have changed my email address. My old one is CLOSED. I am unable to make any changes to my current Mozilla account because I am sent a code to my CLOSED email. I have run in to this with other accounts before. It doesn't make sense!

No, They are Blocking me the only way I can watch it is in troubleshooting mode, AND HAVE disabled the adblockers'.

hello, i use setting "Delete cookies and site data when Mozilla closes". i also employ multiple ad-blockers, etc. when opening websites, sometimes an "opt-out" or "accept all cookies" screen pops-up. the "more ethical" websites give adequate time to respond and enter choices whereas the vast majority close within a few seconds (no time to choose). just spoke with PayPal about their website's lightening-speed "cookie" pop-up. each website's pop-up is different so i found it difficult to believe when she said this was a "browser" issue (something Mozilla controls). i realize it's fairly impossible to not have cookies gather info but what can i do to opt-out on websites (besides not opening them) like this? thanks, dave PS: i'd add an image but can't catch one!

So because of the name change, I am prompted to ask "do I even have an account?" The fact that I am able to even ask you this question must mean that I do. I have been using Firefox and Thunderbird for years and never new that it / they needed or came with an account. So I apparently have an account. Now what? What can or should I do with it? I had Firefox installed in English. After an update/renew (after a long period of not ever launching Firefox), it was displaying in French. I changed the preferred language to English in the Settings, and now I'm getting everything in a mishmash of English and French! (See the attach screenshot.) Even in the same panel, there is a mix of languages (e.g., under History, there's the "Search history" box, and below this, "Aujourd'hui" and "Il y a plus de 6 mois"). I cannot remove French from the language list, and English is already the preferred language.

Relevant information: This is a work desktop where my system settings are in English, but it is connected in a region that frequently uses French (Quebec) so some defaults for my organization might be in French.
