For the past week Firefox has been opening Youtube in dark when for the last decade I've been using light. Every time I change to light it works for that tab, if I open a new tab and load Youtube it opens in dark appearance. When I change to light and then click my avatar in the top right of Youtube it's still states I'm in dark when it's in light.

Why doesn't the light appearance stay? I've cleared cookies and that doesn't seem to work. It's also specific to Firefox, this doesn't happen in Microsoft Edge.

Every day when I sign in to Firefox I receive this email message, and I don't know why. I have been signing into Firefox for a few years. I don't remember when this started and I'm not sure if this is just your way of authenticating that I am me or not. Please explain this email I receive from accounts@firefox.com. I have changed my password many times so that can't be it, at least I don't think that's it.

Hello, I was wondering if there is any way for firefox to not open a new window when i click a link? Instead, it would open a new tab, not a new window.

I just installed Firefox on a new Windows 11 desktop computer. I ported my profiles over and it appears everything came over EXCEPT: - Themes aren't working. I've tried switching them and they still don't display. The menu bar is black w/white letters; the toolbar is gray with white icons/letters. - My extension icons are there...sort of. If I hover over them I can see the tool tip but the icon doesn't appear on the toolbar which is light gray in color. I can live without the themes if I have to. Not so much the invisible extension icons. Any suggestions as to how I can get them to appear as they do on my Windows 10 desktop? Screen cap below. Cursor is hovered over the Undo Close Tab extension icon but where's the icon? Any suggestions as to how to troubleshoot this will be appreciated!!

I don't know if this is a firefox or outlook problem, but I can no longer access outlook live (https://outlook.live.com/mail/0/) from my main screen. Blank page. Oddly enough though, I can access it by going to "private browsing." So I'm guessing there's a setting that's keeping outlook from loading, but I don't remember changing any settings recently, so I'm stumped. This has been happening for only the past 3 days.

I run a Windows laptop, version 8.1. Two days ago the monthly system rollup occurred followed by Firefox browser updates. The user comment section of the Foxnews website disappeared completely. I can still login and out but nothing appears for any article comments. I see the comments are still there when I open a Chrome browser on my Android phone so I know Fox didn't discontinue user commenting. I have looked at add-ons, ad blockers, etc but no success reactivating this feature.

Anyone else having this problem? If so, is there a known cause/solution? Thanks

Hi, from many time (some months ago) I have this problem: sometimes (well, actually very often, but not always) when I start firefox it runs in “Private browsing” mode.

The problem happens both if I click on the icon in the gnome dock, and if I run firefox from the terminal. In both situations, the problem happens sometimes, and some times not.

When I launch it from the terminal, the output is the same, either if I see the bug or not.

The problem has already been reported on the Fedora support site, too.

What can I do to sort it out? Thank you very much

I never use the 'Bookmark this page' button in the location bar. Meanwhile it takes precious real estate in the small location bar (I have many extension buttons in the toolbar). Is there a way to hide or disable this button?

For a long time Ive been reading my newspaper in the browser but recently I noticed that the resolution has been changed text is blurry and images unclear. If I download the file and read it with ADOBE PDF Reader it is as normal, sharp. I guess there is a setting that has change with one of the resent updates but I cant find it :(

I cant say when the resolution changed but it was round New Year / Christmas ....

I have auto update on.

Hi, Ive looked for a reason for this but i can find nothing. I've freshly installed ubuntu, pop_os and Manjaro. All 3 crash within minutes of starting up firefox. mind you these are fresh installs and there is no cache to clear and no extensions or addons. And what is stranger is the fact that only on Manjaro, firefox is excruciatingly slow. to the point of almost unusable. Is there any thing i can do, or, can anyone help me with this? its been going on for several months. thank you for your help and time Alchamech

When is SNAP going to either be fixed, or abandoned? I can no longer save files. or export bookmarks (to another browser that works) since implementation. I hate abandoning you.

I have a dozen old embedded device modules (circa 2003) which can host a web page. When I access the device through my local intranet (192.168.0.xxx), the web page displays correctly. However, when the same page is accessed through my DNS service (xxx.gotdns.org:xxxx) over the web, the Firefox INSPECT:network tool indicates that the document is type:text and displays the HTML in a text format. The first line of the HTML document is :<!DOCTYPE html>.....

These devices are non-secure information-only devices, but at least Firefox allows for HTTP: exceptions.

However, I cannot understand why Firefox treats the same content differently depending on the path. Is there a way to force Firefox to actually look at the contents of the packet and treat it accordingly?

I am running Firefox 108.0 on Ubuntu 20.04.5 and videos on Reddit don't play, they just buffer (?). Youtube works fine. I've tried the suggestions on this page: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-common-audio-and-video-issues#search but nothing seems to work.

Hello, I was using my headphones for watching YouTube on Firefox but then I unplugged them and the audio has stopped playing. I thought the issue was with the volume of my speakers, but the audio worked on any other app. So I plugged my headphones again and I could hear the audio from them. Anything I can do for fixing this (I even restarted the PC but the audio only plays with headphones)?

Hi, I use Zoro.com for buying industrial parts. I get access denied on all my computers (something got synced). I tried clearing cache and clearing something else to no avail. Recently I did a clean reload of Linux and was able to get on to zoro. But when replaced the mozella directory with my copy (with all data) zoro again became unavailable. I have been doing workaround for months but it is a pain to switch browsers every time. Any Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Ps I have been on the internet since it was called compuserve at 300 baud. I used to program machine code, dos, cpm, c+, Unfortunately at this time in my life a am not able to learn new tricks. Title. Whenever I open Firefox, the window will appear shortly after, but it will take around a minute for websites to load. This applies to both tabs from older sessions and opening new tabs. It doesn't matter whether I've just booted up, or if I've been running for half an hour. I've tried disabling all extensions, but that hasn't fixed anything. I am running Linux Mint 21.1 Cinnamon on my Gaming Laptop. Specs shouldn't be an issue. ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED!

I've been professional web developer for almost 15 years. I've wanted to try to step away from Chrome, but I'm having a hard time navigating through basic functionality with Firefox's developer tools. One of those was a simple "Control + F" find feature. Am I missing something?

Specifically, lets say I want to search for a specific class within a style sheet. In Chrome I can bring up the dev tools, select the style sheet, Control + F, and it will give me a toolbar with options to step through each instance of the class. It gives me total count and I can hit the up or down arrow to cycle through each instance of that class (insert any selector here). I can also Replace an instance or all instances.

When I try this in Firefox's dev tools, I get the first instance but see no way to do anything else. If I hit enter it doesn't cycle through to the next instance but creates a line break in my style sheet.

I've researched with no success. I know there is the filter option but that isn't what I'm looking for in this case. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've been logging into usbank.com for many years. I started having problems, on and off, over the past year. Today I can't log in at all. When I go to the site I get the message "Byte Size of the object is zero", and that's all, just a white screen with that message. I'm using Firefox 108.0.1 (64-bit). I'm not blocking cookies from usbank (that I know of), so there's not much to check on my end of things. Any suggestions, things I should check? Thanks.

I'm using the latest version of Firefox on an updated Fedora Linux installation. I am experiencing for a while now random crashing while watching videos. The playback crashing is random, so I could be watching 5 videos one after another with no crashing and then one video will cause it to crash. The video causing is site agnostic, so it could crash from any site, not just YouTube. I saw in bugzilla something that I thought was related to the crashing (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1779558) but it got resolved and it still keeps happening to me.

It's getting tiresome, please. What do I need to send you to help me fix this problem?
