I've lost access to my [edited] @hotmail.com email address that is associated with this account, and I'd like to change my email address now before I'm locked it forever. This is the last computer that I have that is still logged in! It seems that to add another email address I need verification from my first email address, which I can not get. Please help! I don't know if your response to this help question will go to my Firefox account or my email, but if it goes to my lava950 email I won't receive it. If you could please also send it to [edited email from public community support forum], I'd really appreciate that. Thank you!

The email address in the account recovery option is incorrect. I cannot locate any option to revise it. Correct address is: GHUGHES204@gmail.com. The INCORRECT email address is GHUGES204@gmail.com. How can this be corrected?

cannot access primary email. idiot firefox requires primary email in order to make backup primary !!!!!!!

I have a backup email address, recover codes, phone.

but firefox requires the inaccessible primary email address to make any changes !!!!!@!@!@!!!!!

I had my work email as my primary and used asimha.cloud@gmail.com as my secondary email. I'm no longer with that company and don't have access to that email. I'd like to use asimha.cloud@gmail.com as my primary email. The work email in question that has to be removed is - simhaaj@vmware.com.

The email account I use for my firefox login is now no longer in use, is there anyway I can change the primary email to a different one, I am currently logged in but dont have a back email on my account and if I try to add one it wants to send me a verifaction code to the email I can't access.

I no longer have access to the primary account email. I went under "manage account" tried to make the secondary email my primary, Firefox sends verficiation code to my primary email. I do not have access to that email.

Please help.

The primary email that I have For my account is no longer active. I can't use that to sign in. Then email is [edited] @reagan.com. I do have a secondary email. it is [edited] @protonmail.com. Your system wants to demand that I use that primary email address. I can't do that. Can you help me?

What is apparently the official Firefox policy is incredibly dumb:

They provide users with that ability to add secondary email addresses, recovery codes, and authentification, BUT they REQUIRE access to the primary email address to make the secondary email address primary.

IF the primary email address is unavailable, the secondary email addresses, recovery codes, and authentification are completely useless for making the secondary email address the primary one.

This supposedly provides "enhanced security".

Pro Tip: If you deny ALL internet access, you will be very secure on the internet.

Genuinely astonished that Firefox Support thinks this is not insane.

I need to update my email to my new account. I list it as my secondary and need to make it my primary email. When asking this question I got a response that there was a "make primary" button next to the secondary email that you could use to perform this task. My account does not have that option. I changed my email last year and need to correct it for my Firefox account. Please help.

I am trying to set up a secondary account and keep getting an error message "This email was already confirmed by another user". How is this possible for 2 people to have the same email address? I use this email all the time so I know it is mine.

I am leaving my old email site. I attempted to add the email address that will eventually become my primary ( ID) but it says that email address already exists...but it is not listed anywhere in Firefox (Mozilla ) that I can find. Typically software issues ..day in the life crap.

i couldn't find the "Menu button" which i was supposed to click, to begin changing the name everyone would see. ( i have ALWAYS loved Mozilla - the Firefox graphic - instead of corporate U.S.!) But, tonight has taken OVER AN HOUR to just fill everything out, so my supportive Review of a kind Dentist could be POSTED!!

PLEASE HELP. Honest to the Almighty - i couldn't sleep last night. Am now exhausted.
