None of the available migration or restore methods are capable of preserving OneTab data. In every case I have tried, OneTab is missing from the add-ons in my new installation or profile. The only approach which achieved anything at all was to replace the entire .mozilla director under Ubuntu, but even this only displayed the OneTab page and its data on the first invocation of Firefox. Since the add-on was not present, the data was gone at the second invocation. However, repeating this process at least allowed me to export the OneTab data from *one* profile on the first invocation. Unfortunately, this method is completely useless under Windows, as are the recommended approaches of using Firefox sync (with sync turned on for add-ons) or replacing the contents of a newly created profile with the contents of an old or saved one. How can I properly backup and restore or migrate a Firefox installation, *including* my OneTab installation and data?

Firefox Updates regularily break the complete SAP Employee Self-Service (ESS) functionality on all company laptops - how to prevent Firefox to update or rollback updates? Best solution would be one that each employee can do without admin rights! Thanks & Kind regards!

Background Info: Since Firefox does not support SAP apps eg. Employee Self Service (ESS) we need to use IE for that. But unfortunately Firefox Updates even destroy IE functionality for SAP ESS. What happen is, that IE crashes and Firefox is opened! (Eventhough firefox is not standard browser! It's chrome!) Only solution is to completely remove all firefox installations company wide from all employee laptops! Until then, we have after each (enforced) firefox update enormous traffic on our first level support hotline.

AVG migrates my mozilla thunderbird from version 60.5.3 to 78.4.3 and I do not know how to avoid that. Version 60.5.3 is not compatible to 78.4.3 and I would have to start my thunderbird from new and would loose all my data (adresses, emails etc.). So I install version 60.5.3 from my downloads and all works fine again till AVG does it again. So either how can I tell AVG to leave my thunderbird in peace or how kann I migrate my data from 60.5.3 to 78.4.3 wich would of course be the better solution.

I have a Mac system that has been on OS X 10.11.6 for a long time, and was switched to the ESR channel when the release channel no longer supported this version. I have finally been able to update that system to something later (Mojave, 10.14.6) and want to restore Firefox to the release channel. How do I do this and preserve all of the Firefox settings, history, etc.? Won't installing a fresh copy of Firefox wipe all that out? Thanks for any help you can provide.

This may be messy, sorry. I hated the new FireFox appearance, so stuck with 78 on MacOS 9. I never approved the update, but somehow, my FireFox upgraded after a crash. Of course, it gives me the constant :

I am hoping if I can log in to FireFox 82 to my account somehow, it will save the active tabs. (there are 100 active tabs yes, because of end of year issues) FireFox 82 cannot log in.

I saved my profile, ran 78 and it lets me log in, but with a new profile, so I cannot open previously open tabs.

So my question is: How can I import the active tabs and all bookmarks into FireFix 82? (assuming I need to do a reset?) How can I get the active tabs into FireFix 78? (preferred, as I do not like the new look in 79+)

I have the auto update feature enabled on my firefox browser, I am on windows 10 and it just will not auto update. It asks me for a manual update every time. I cannot find any recent information as to how to fix this issue so I figured I would ask here.

The version of Firefox we have is part of a Windows 10 image that is built into the GP. When running updates they stick for about a day, but then they revert back the the old version of Firefox (I think it went down to version 50 or 60). Normally, it wouldn't be that big of an issue but many websites do not work properly when he browser is on an older version. Can someone tell me why this is happening and how to fix it? I can't keep updating the browser for people multiple times a week when it should only be happening every few months or so. We used to use Ninite to keep apps like this updated automatically but we don't have that anymore. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Trying to migrate Firefox profile from Win 7 machine to new Win 10. Downloaded Firefox to new machine, confirmed that it worked, closed it.Using Troubleshooting feature, located active profile in old Win 7 machine, copied to USB stick. Closed Firefox on new machine, navigated to Profiles folder, copied the Win 7 file to it and deleted the existing file. Tried to start Firefox, got 'Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible'. Fiddled round a bit, finally uninstalled Firefox from the new machine and downloaded it again. Got the same error message, now no Firefox at all after carefully following such instructions as I could find. What the f*ck am I doing wrong? A year or so ago I transferred the Win 7 profile successfully to a Win 10 laptop. What has gone wrong now? Any suggestions most welcome.
