Firefox stopped working yesterday. When I open it, it immediately crashes. After multiple times of that I refreshed it as it asked. It then worked ok. However after closing it and coming back later, it again immediately crashes. I then tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it still does not work.

I’m curious whether Firefox’s privacy and tracking protection features can affect how local business websites load or function, especially websites that use analytics[[,|https://locksmithhighlandranch.com/about/]] contact forms, maps, or booking features.

Have you noticed any differences compared with other browsers, and are there any Firefox settings developers should keep in mind?

You used to be able to view all of your synced tabs from other devices by going into the toolbar menu > your profile > the device name but I went in today to pull a tab from my phone onto my laptop and it only shows about 5 tabs total. You have to click "see all # tabs" which then opens in the sidebar of the browser. I hate the sidebar, it just does not work well with my brain/visualization needs, and have been doing everything i can to avoid it. Is there a way for me to revert the display settings of synced tabs specifically? As I use them frequently enough that I am going to have to look into changing browsers if I continue to have to utilize the sidebar

Can you please enlighten me on the internal protocol FF follows when downloads are set to "Always ask you were to save files"? I want that dialog to always default to the previously used folder, but it only does that about 70% of the time (in my guesstimation). The rest of the time it randomly decides it doesn't want to do that and it will pop up the Windows Downloads folder instead.

Sometimes it will do that even right in the middle of a mass-download session where I'm downloading, say, 15 items, doing the right-click/save thing, and after 10 items in which the Save-to dialog has defaulted to the folder I want, it will suddenly decide that it wants to go back to Windows Downloads, and because I'm on autopilot with my keystroke routine, I might go through all 5 final downloads before I notice that it's not saving to the right folder anymore. This is EXTREMELY annoying.

What prompts my current post is that I've just started another session of about 10-15 downloads, but this time I'm five files in and FF is still refusing to default to my desired folder. It's not uncommon for it to take two tries before the folder I want sticks, but not five. It's now officially way uncool to continue navigating there every single damn time.

So please tell me why this happens.

And no, please don't recommend that I temporarily change the default downloads folder and just set it to permanently download there, then change it back to "Always ask" after each session. First, that's an unworthy kludge. Second, that's a good idea if I'm going to download, say, 40 or more files at a time, but I usually don't. Usually it's more along the lines of 10-20, and that is just too small a number for me to constantly be resetting the default FF download folder. I set different download folders for different types of files A LOT and it would be much more burdensome to continuously deal with FF settings than just have it work the way it's supposed to. So I'm hoping that there's something about this that I don't understand, and I'm inadvertently doing something to interfere with the default-to-previous-folder process which I can stop doing.

My font on some sites is being forced to this horrible condensed font and it's seemingly nothing to do with my font settings in browser. Thing is, I VAGUELY remember changing a setting SOMEWHERE to actually do this, but it's not the main font setting in accessibility. Furthermore this issue has only started happening in the last day or two and my vague memory of setting my font somewhere was years ago.

Is there any other setting in Firefox that affects default font for certain sites?

Starting 2 or 3 days ago, Firefox began displaying PDFs incorrectly. The problem is that a single letter is omitted here and there. In the attached screenshots, the first one shows the word. "Department" with amissing letter "t" in the middle. After refreshing the screen, the PDF displays correctly, as shown in the second screenshot.

This is occurring on a Mac; it does not seem to occur on a Windows desktop machine.

I am running Firefox Desktop 155.1 on MacOS Monterey 12.7.6.

After Firefox update on my win 11 laptop, I had to reset my Firefox custom homepage and all my search settings and all my security settings. This should not happen. I did not lose my bookmarks or anything else.

My desktop Firefox (version 155.0.1) has recently became unable to consistently access the Web site at this Web site this Web site. Chrome successfully accesses the site 100% of the time. Firefox's connection failures are intermittent, unpredictable, and usually go away on their own after varying time intervals (sometimes can't connect for up to 24 hours). I see status messages saying Firefox is trying to connect to the site, but it eventually gives up and times out.

I cleared the Firefox cache, but that had no effect. I don't recall making any significant changes to the Firefox settings lately. Any suggestions on what to look at/try would be greatly appreciated.

(Yes, I know the site doesn't use https: Its protocol is outside my control).

My browser window (not my private browser window, however, is starting to show text in web pages as a reverse Hebrew font. I can't figure out why. Translations are turned off and it happens on a lot of different sites. There is a screenshot attached. How can I make it stop!!!

After a update 154.0.1 and 155.0.1, 64 byt Firefox dod not keep the open tabs once started, but the bookmarks. After searching in Firefox help, neither I could not find a previous bakup folder, before the update data, so I cannot restore the history it manually, so I do not know what to do. I moved bookmarks from old mac to new mac so I can visit all my websites. However no user names and passwords load on the new mac. I hit sync over and over and nothing happens. Thx in advance for your help.

For the last few days after an hour (or so) of use, browser windows try to load but don't finish. I checked the Mac activity monitor and see that FirefoxCP webextensions is hogging memory--8GB! MacOS 26.6.2, Firefox for mac 154.0.1. Did the same thing for MacOS26.5.2. Is AI doing in performance? How can I find what to turn off?

Hello, Since this morning after an update of firefox the history is lost and my personal bar where I stored my bookmarks is empty now after applying version 155.0.1 the problem is still alive Help Please

Hi a few days ago I updated my firefox version 155.0 well I had 3 open tabs going back to and forth to different sites. when the update firefox popped up, I mistakenly hit update & a notice said firefox is attempting to save these sites, I closed the notice then shut down my laptop,

I never take a update with any thin running. when I turned on the w-10 lap top seem to take awhile to load, so I let it load, and then I shut it down completely. I went to task manager and my read write on my c: drive was running at 100% for about 15-20 minutes. I went to firefox settings and re-set "cache at startup"

This seemed to help some, but still not sure if it is locked in a loop, looking for those those saved files.

I am 80 now and not a pc savvy as I was. not sure what the normal time the c drive for read write should stay at 100% after starting my laptop, I know there is indexing going on, but I thought it would be done by now. after. Thank You Gary Kouri

FF 154.0 will not create a backup file. Trying to create an initial backup to my D: drive (2 TB Samsung 990 Pro M.2 Gen 4 NVMe SSD with 86% free space). WIN Pro 25H2 Operating system, Intel Core i7-14700K CPU; 64 GB DDR5 - 5600 MHz Corsair Vengeance DRAM.

No matter what I do I can't get the initial backup to complete even though the D:/Restore Firefox folder was created. I consistently get this message, “Hmm, there was a problem with the backup. Please try again in a few minutes.” The message result of browser.backup.backup-debug-info is:

Well, I am in a real mess. Three days ago I lost the ability to access my favourite website. I CAN access the website in the Brave browser. The website owner has told me that it is not a problem with my account with them so it must be a Firefox issue. Before this happened I had been trying to move and delete files on my laptop and have got very confused about EVERYTHING. In that I had deleted my Firefox recovery folder(s). I have managed to move them back into my Home folder before they expire. Now I am being asked to enter my "password" to initiate the restore. But the several Firefox passwords in my laptop are not being accepted. How can I get a new password? If that is not possible do I have to delete my Firefox account? What is my best way to recover from this mess? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
