turn automatic updates off

Updates are not available to be turned off from UI anymore and forced on user automatically all the time. Time to change the browser?

One of my banks told me i am running a firefox version that is not compatible with my computer. i am on an max mini. i looked for the version in the 'help section' and cannot find an about tab/button. how can i find out what firefox i am running and if it the wrong version how do i fix without losing all my bookmarks folders and passwords?
