Immediately after upgrading to 4.0 (from the lastest 3.o version) I have not been able to connect to any addresses. The message is: "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.yahoo.com." Despite this, IE8 still works.

Some web pages I open up have chinese-looking text in places. It seems to be where advertisements might be (after looking at the page through Safari) but sometimes it is the whole page.

Question since downloading firefox 4 the top and bottom of my screen have gone black and I find it difficult to see the back button/arrow, If I can't go back to 3.6 and you would have to show me how,step by step with no computer speak if this is not possible for you I will revert to internet explorer.. regards chris williams

In Firefox 4 the "close tab" button does not appear in the "File" pull down.

This button does appear in Firefox 3.6.16 but is now gone.

I need it when I have two windows open, each with one tab open and I want to close one window.

The only option presented to me is "Quit" which closes both windows...

When I type into the address bar it tries to search : jar:file:///C:/Program Files (x86)/mozilla firefox/omni.jar!/chrome/en-US/locale/browser-region/region.properties then the query at the end I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling using MozBackup and it does the same thing is there anything I can do?

I feel extremely uncomfortable using 4.0 knowing it is as yet incompatible with my Norton 360 toolbar. I would like to rollback to an early version of firefox until Norton Toolbar becomes compatible in May. I've also experienced some crashing.

Every time I use Firefox 4, I create several App Tabs. After I shut down my computer, the App Tabs are gone when I start up again. What must I do to save my App Tabs?

This does NOT happen every time Firefox opens. It happens every time my computer opens.

Help says to create a profile by typing "firefox.exe -profilemanager" in the search box in the open icon. When I do that nothing happens. When I go to the firefox.exe site and click it opens firefox.

On some news websites such as huffingtonpost.com, the main articles are associated with a photo. When you place your cursor on the upper right hand corner of the photo, a "Quick Read" option is shown. Clicking on that brings up a brief summary of the article. The Quick Read option appears in FF3 but does not now that I have installed FF4.

Some websites are loaded only with question marks after I updated to Firefox 4.0.1. I have attached a screenshot in the link below.

Hi I have YouTube set to 'Always switch to HD when switching to full screen (when available)' but when using the current version of Firefox (4.0.1), this doesn't happen. I've tried it in Chrome, and it works there so it may be an issue with Firefox. Any suggsions?

Goal: Export bookmarks to HTML file Problem: No "Organize Bookmarks" found in "Bookmarks" menu as shown in Support info (support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Exporting bookmarks to an HTML file.) No alternative method found in support documentation. Browser: Firefox 4.01. OS: MacBook Pro i7 OS X 10.6.7

I am using FF 4.0.1 and have been a FF user since the earliest version released - never really had any issues UNTIL FF 4.0.1.

Every time I start up FF now, I get the error message: "The proxy server is refusing connections". I am not using a proxy server.

I have to go to Tools>Options>Connection Settings to select the "No Proxy" option EVERY TIME I start up FF. It does not remember this setting and keep resetting itself to think I'm using a proxy server. This must a be bug and I've seen many others post about this issue but haven't really found a workable solution as yet.

I have tested with Chrome and Explorer and don't have this problem with those browsers.

If there is a fix for this incredibly annoying, time-wasting problem, please share it.

In Firefox 4, How could I move the personnal bar above tabs? Is it possible? Because personaly with the new tabs bar on top I find that it should be better to have my bookmarks on top of this. Thanks by advance. (ps: off topic, I just don't understand why removing things from the user: dropdown history list in the forward/backward buttons wihtout giving him the choice somewhere..)

I upgraded to FF 4. The Norton toolbar 5.5 is incompatible. I want to know if I am still protected by Norton while browsing even though the Norton toolbar is not installed. According to the Norton settings, the web protection is on and working. If I am still protected I will wait for an updated Norton toolbar to be available, otherwise I will need to know how to uninstall FF 4 and reinstall FF3.6.

Firefox 4 is incredibly slow. It is making it very difficult for me to work on the internet. I want to de-install it and return to the previous version, which was much faster. Please advise me about how to de-install Firefox 4. thank you, sj
