When I pull up a page for almost any item listed on Amazon, a menu bar pops up at the top of the screen, informing me that I can purchase the same item for less money at another site. This is not the same as offers by Amazon partners shown at the bottom of the page. I've notified Amazon of this problem. They tell me they don't have a virus and have no idea what this is. I have cleared my cache, cookies, history, etc., and run my anti-virus and malware detection software. Everything seems fine on my end. Amazon suggested that I contact Firefox to see whether I have inadvertently downloaded something that is causing or allowing this situation. Do you know about this problem and, if so, do you have a solution? Thanks for your time.

Moreover, I guess, all my settings are recovered for a month ago, but I notice only tabs. I guess, the system recovery recovers AppData folder, there Firefox settings are. It's okey only if I don't have problems with my system, but I have.. a lot of them. In the Opera, system recovery doesn't crash my tabs, bookmarks or something else, even if it's settings are in the AppData. What should I do to prevent such settings-reset behaivour? Is it SQLLite deficit?

I have this problem that firefox always gets stuck for at least like 20 seconds each time when I close another firefox window. I usually have several firefox windows open at the same time. When I close one of them, the rest of them get stuck for seconds before they can do anything, sometimes crashed (not common). I notice that firefox crashing usually has to do with some firefox windows were running online video, like youtube or others. It can be any advertisement on any website that is in the form of moving pictures. But crashing is really not common. Just getting stuck every single time when I close one firefox window among others.

I thought it was because my computer is old but Internet Explorer doesn't have this problem on my computer. I even downgraded firefox to version 28 ( I used to have the latest, 36?) That did not solve the problem. I am running on windows 7. I would like to keep using firefox because it allows add-on so I don't want to switch to IE. Does anyone know what the problem is? Thanks.

Starting just today, whenever I try to access www.fanfiction.net, I'm getting this error message from FF:-

" Secure Connection Failed An error occurred during a connection to www.fanfiction.net. The OCSP server has no status for the certificate. (Error code: sec_error_ocsp_unknown_cert) "

I've already tried deleting the Cert8.db and Secmod.db, and uncheck both of OCSP option in Advance Settings. Neither works. The site can be accessed fine from any other browser so this is definitely Firefox issue.

Need advice on how to fix this ASAP.

Yesterday I had problems with the website Myfitnesspal.com. I have a tab set to automatically open when I start the browser every day. I could not log any information into the site, so I tried a log off and log on. It won't let me log on to the site. I contacted, myfitnesspal and we worked through many trouble shooting steps. I also tried all the troubleshooting steps from your site. I even did a complete shutdown and start up of my computer. Nothing has fixed this problem. I had the same issue with a couple of store I like to browse. The store site are finally working after more than 6 months of frustration. Myfitnesspal works on ALL other browsers. So with everything that has been tried and done, the problem seems to be on your end somewhere. I am running Windows 7 Professional, 32 bit.

I really hope that this can be fixed because the website displays best on your browser. Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me.

I am running Linux Mint 16 with FF 28.0. FF sometimes opens all the previous tabs I had open, rather than the tabs I have set to open as my home page.

I have tried all the solutions I can find here or elsewhere on the web, including the about:config settings, resetting FF, uninstalling FF and re-installing, checking four user.js (could it be something different in Linux?) file, etc.

I did this:

(3) Double-click browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes and change the 1 to a 0 (a zero) and OK that.

Just upgraded to FF 29. I mean it looks like Chrome with one big exception. With the tab bar/address bar/favorites bar on FF29 I have effectively lost 3/8" of viewing area compared to FF 28. There needs to be a way to shrink the height so I can get more viewing area. I look forward to any comments. Thanks

Can anyone tell me why userscripts.org is unaccessible? I've been trying for the last three days, and firefox timed out on me on all three of my computers, home desktop, home laptop, and work computer. Thank You. David

I downgraded back to 28 after 29 came out. Now I get pompts/popups asking if Firefox can make changes. I want to make this go away. There will never be an upgrade to 29 and I am willing to take the risk of staying with 28. If this can't made to permanetly disappear I will have to find another browser. I have checked the update section of the security tab under options and checked NEVER and it still does it every time I launch firefox.

I would like to have a dynamic set of bookmarks that is common between two (or more) profiles. That is, the bookmark files are shared between the profiles. Is there a "config" setting that will point the profile to bookmarks?

One of the answers on your support page says JavaScript is on by default. A webmaster at a page I visited said the reason clicking on his email address did not automatically load Outlook is because JavaScript is turned off. If it is turned off, I don't know how it got that way. I do not see any options to turn it on or off. All I can find is an offer for an add-on to control which sites may or may not use it.

I do not use Sharepoint, so I don't know where that plugin came form, in case that has anything to do with it.

I've recently noticed that some sites like yahoo, google, facebook, bing still show the https and the padlock which indicates a secure connection/site. However, sites like amazon, ebay where I need to input personal and financial info shows the gray globe, which I understand is not secure. How do I fix this? I've read related posts about this, but none of the suggestions solve my problem. Thanks!

This has been asked by many people here. NO usable fix was offered to anyone! I respectfully DEMAND a straightforward accurate and complete fix to this issue. I will NOT use FF29 under any circumstances. I WANT 28 to open every time! I do NOT want 28 to be changed to 29 EVER! "NEVER CHECK FOR UPDATES" IS checked. I do not care about the supposed security risks. I have been using FF since version 2 with no issues. That says a lot about your product. There must be a permanent fix for it. I am trying to learn Javascript from a tutorial. I'm using Text edit to create a simple .html file that calls a .js file using the script command. The .html file opens normally in the default browser and can print a message to a simple page. It looks like a window tries to open the .js file but it vanishes before opening. I have checked that Javascript is enabled in Firefox. Opening Firefox in Safe mode does not fix the problem. It also fails to execute the .js file in Safari and Chrome.

This problem happens on three Macs, all running Mavericks 10.9.2. When I try this on a Windows PC the .js file executes as expected.

I've tried everything I can think of including turning off the Firewall in Security Settings. It seems like it has to be something system-wide since it happens in all three browsers. Has Apple implemented some type of blocking of Javascript in Mavericks? Any suggestions for why this is not working on my Macs and what I can do to fix it would be greatly appreciated!
