I'm sending this from my phone. My desktop FF (Win 10) suddenly displayed a black wireless globe type icon called Prox-Media pinned to my taskbar. I can't find the app on my system, though, but the full path leads it to a firefox.exe file. Before my brain kicked in, I'd clicked on the icon right after noticing it, and Firefox came up with the attached error message displayed.

"Prox-Media" comes up nowhere in my searches - not as legit, not as a virus - just no results. Can you help?

I have a paid AVG account and I ran a deep scan but it found nothing.

I'm suddenly getting repeated/multiple Mozilla Firefox "Browser Alerts", "System Warnings," and "McAfee Critical Virus Alerts" that are wrong and dysfunctional. They pop up every few seconds. They contain "Remove virus now" and "quick scan" buttons, but these only take me to a bright red screen that says:

"Deceptive site ahead Firefox blocked this page because it may trick you into doing something dangerous like installing software or revealing personal information like passwords or credit cards."

These come even though I haven't tried to access any "deceptive sites." I have to x all of them out to clear my screen.

There's obviously a defect in your warning system. How do I stop this?

seems that after Firefox 150.0.3 (20260511200624). I cant access locally deployed servers that are not secure. the Firefox forces https when hitting http://localhost. I've tried to disable the HTTPS setting altogether. Even in developer mode it still overwrites http to https.

This happens occasionally for many months. It is still happening on v147.0.1. I start the computer, open Firefox, and the browser loads previously viewed pages, including my Gmail account. The Gmail page has me already logged in, and I DID NOT provide my password! This has to be a big security risk. If some one were to use my computer, or it was stolen, they would have complete access to my Gmail and all Google properties! OS - Debian GNU/Linux 12 (bookworm) Kernel v6.1.0-42-amd64 Firefox v147.0.1 (and MANY previous versions)

Some users are abandoning Firefox because of the difficulty of protecting against Firefox fingerprinting. Therefore, I strongly recommend adding an option in the settings that allows the digital fingerprints to be made random, or at least, if it is difficult, to make the fingerprints indistinguishable. This will help improve Firefox’s reputation and the privacy of its users. Love you all 3:

First with ramming AI everywhere in Firefox, now a browser VPN, why?

I do not want a VPN the web browser that I didn't ask for or other features you think people need without asking.

Corporate and business users would not have a bar of this either.

Enough!

Remove this from Firefox please in the next release.

In the meantime, tell users how to disable this VPN via the Settings and "about:config" so this never gets turned on.

I assume Mozilla developers are working on this?

I'm using a HTML file as a hypertext that catalogues a hard drive or folder. I want the file names to be clickable--to open the file, but but the file:/// href is blocked. What is the work around. All of this is local

The goal is to avoid Google. Copilot advise me to under Security, to uncheck the box "Block dangerous and deceptive content". Is that advisable - should I comply?

Firefox has this pop-up warning that tells me that my http connection on my home network isn't secure. I need a way to disable this. The reason being that Firefox' pop-up blocks me from accessing my password mangers pop-up which is hidden beneath the Firefox one. Please help and thank you.

I started getting a different login screen for yahoo and so I was on the lookout for the https:// that would ensure I'm at a real website. I noticed that I don't get any https:// on anything in my FF esr 140. Even if I enter it with the address, it disappears as soon as I click to open the website. I tried out Edge and the https:// is there. Is there some reason this is being removed in FF, as it is something reassuring and doesn't take up much space.

When I went to log into my email it would not let me without confirming my profile information by hitting the "Submit" button. I tried to find a way around this but was not able to. The information had my name, an erroneous zip code of 99999, and my phone number. Since the info was minimal I went ahead and hit submit. It said a confirmation would be sent to my phone, but I did not receive anything. I then logged into my email, but as I was logging in it said, "logging out" and then logged me in. I opened a new tab to research if the ATT profile confirmation was legit or a scam. I was unable confirm either. However, when I opened the new tab I noticed the Tiger favicon between two ATT favicons on my recent history. I attempted to confirm whether this Tiger favicon was part of ATT or Yahoo but could not find out anything it. I am concerned someone may have hacked my email and phone. Can anyone confirm whether this Tiger favicon is legit or who it belongs to?? (photo attached)

Since the latest Firefox upgrade I get about 30 pop up ads from you scaring me about security. I have run a diagnostic and am confident I do not have any issues. I will soon leave you all together despite the hassle of chaging
