When I try to sign in with username and password, Firefox is demanding that I "restore facial recognition" or fingerprint. But I am using a desktop PC. With neither a camera nor touchpad. Before asking for the above, I was instructed to insert some kind of key into my computer. I 'm stumped. Is there something I can turn off? Or on? to avoid these steps I can't take? Thanks y'all.

Hello, after the most recent Firefox update, and it doesn't happen with every web page but it seems to be most frequent on ones I have never visited, that I get a tab that says "Gah! Your tab just crashed". If I close the browser and reopen it, then reload the crashed tab from my recent History, it seems to work. Anyone else experiencing this (Win 10 Pro 64x desktop PC)?

I have a 4k monitor, with Windows scaling set to 150% to make text readable. On firefox the text is still very small - I think it is not scaling according to the monitor setting. I also think this issue only started recently?

All other apps show the text at the scaled size on that monitor. Firefox seems to be the odd one out. Screenshot attached with another app to show the difference.

A file called 'Pending Pings' appeared within the folder in which my Firefox installation is located. I last used Firefox on May 14, 2025. I don't know how it appeared as I disabled automatic updates and made it so it would ask me if I wanted an update, so I do not know why it is.

Hii. Amazing browser tho, whenever i pin something on top or chuck it into essentials - when i close that tab - it disappears (and reappears on browser restart) - i could not locate any setting pertaining to essentials that would stop that behavior (ideally when i close the pinned/essential tab i would love it to stay there as a bookmark - anyone know of a way to achieve this?

where is the new search icon...i don't see it on/near the address bar on my firefox browser.....u say the new icon allows the user to choose which search engine to use but where is the icon?

I have two MS 11 HP all in one computers. One will search this site just fine https://www.apro.bid/affiliate/michael-clark-410 The other computer hangs up and just cycles. I have done a reset on Firefox with no help. Thanks Charl;es

Using the browser Firefox when Claude is answering questions every 3-4 responses will hang and the response will consume up to 98% of the cpu as well as 600 to 700 MB of memory. The only recovery is to kill the tab. The CPU is : Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 9 185H 3.10 GHz With 64GB ram Using Firefox version 139.0.1 I had Claude switch to only respond with plain text and the issue continued. The issue also occurred during a discussion with Claude about this issue which confirmed it was a Firefox-specific problem with Claude's interface. It during his response, it's likely related to the real-time text streaming or DOM updates.

Some websites I can get to load a page but then cannot access any other part of that website. A good example is Flickr which I can access initially but almost immediately it is part greyed out. Screenshot attached. I can access these sites on Edge with no problem.

I'm using Ubuntu and firefox version 138 installed via APT. I'd like to use the voice input in the sidebar with all AI chatbots, but that doesn't work: if I press the mic button nothing happens. I guess is permission issue... in firefox settings i can enable the microphone for specific websites, but that doesn't apply to the built-in sidebar. for example I can use the voice input on the webpage chatgpt.com, but not in the chatgpt chat in sidebar

We use an external system for our general day to day business, which has links on the customer details for email. This launches Thunderbird, and puts the email add. in the to field. Is there a way I can get thunderbird to use a template when it receives this command from the external program? The address changes each time, but I want to use the same template to speed up a process.

since I moved offices and accepted fire fox as my default browser I keep getting a screen that say something went wrong and it wont allow me to access some websites

I am having a problem with FireFox: using DuckDuckGo as a search engine I only get a white page with a search window at the top as a result. DuckDuckGo works fine in Safari as I am typing this. Other search engines work fine in FireFox.

I have tried running FireFox in troubleshoot mode and then manually disabling extensions one by one but the issue persists. It makes no difference whether I am using the URL box, the search box or the DuckDuckGo website: the result is always the same. I am not using Metamask and I have no VPN installed.

Any idea is greatly appreciated.
