Hi, I just replaced my SSD (Samsung 960EVO m.2 250Gb) for a larger/faster SSD (Samsung 980 m.2 1Tb) . I'm on Windows 10 and have 32Mb Ram. Firefox is now very slow on some websites (not all).

This example is typical and has occured on multiple sites. To test and compare, I copied the URL, created a new tab in Firefox, then Paste and Go. I timed this 3 times and each time was 30 seconds. I Pasted the same into Chrome and Edge and each time it was instant. https://savingschampion.co.uk/best-buys/personal/easy-access-accounts

On my previous SSD, there was never an issue of any lag on any site.

BBC.co.uk/news is fine, as are several other sites. Does anyone have any idea what's happening? This is making Firefox unworkable for me, so unless I can fix the issue, I will have to move permanently to Chrome or Edge. That would be a shame after many years with Firefox.

the newest update to version 97.0 was run automatically. Afterwards the new print preview appears although I have it disabeled in about:config (print.tab_modal.enabled --> false). I cannot get rid of it. It is very annoying as I cannot print my labels with that menu and always have to click once more to do so. Does anyone has a fix for this?

I got a notice that Firefox (and Thunderbird) were updated this morning. Took me an HOUR to find out how to make the miniscule font in my inbox larger. So.. suddenly, new problem.

When I click the Firefox icon to launch the browser, and reopen my tabs, It opens for a millisecond, then closes faster than I can try to read if there is an error. When I click it AGAIN, all my tabs are GONE and I have to search for them manually, which is a royal pain.

Why is this happening? How can I stop it from happening? This is annoying as hell.

Hi folks, I had a problem with this back in June 2021 when my previously black background to the menu bar (bookmarks etc) changed to a washed out grey. Chris Ilias and dbben both replied, and Chris sent me a video guide on how to install Photon Colours, which fixed the problem, thanks. However, today the same problem has re-occurred - ie grey background. Unfortunately, when I checked in the Themes menu I found that Photon Colours is no longer there. Grateful if you could tell me if there is a new fix for this so that I can re-instigate the black background to the toolbar. Many thanks Chris

In spite of hundreds if not thousands of users reporting this issue over and over again, and your suggested workaround to reduce memory usage in the settings that doesn't do anything - FIREFOX is still using unacceptably HUGE amount of memory.

With just FOUR (4) tabs open in one window, in the Task Manager I can see 17 (!!!!!!) Firefox windows open using 830 MB of memory. The highest usage of all my apps including memory hungry media apps. It's using THREE times as much memory as my Adobe Audition processing edits of a 1.5 hr audio with several clips.

This is insane!! You have gone crazy with caching to the point of making this browser unusable.

It's freezing up and crashing my Audition so before I work in it I must shut Firefox down completely - and I work on a powerful tower PC designed for media.

If you don't seriously cut back on this insane caching for the sake of browsing speed IN THE NEXT UPDATE, I won't be using your browser at all, it's simple as that. I'm already migrating my bookmarks and setting up Chrome which uses about half the memory that Firefox does with the same tabs, and I suspect that many users will follow suit.

The workarounds you offer DO NOT WORK. Any app that uses more than 500 MB of memory at any give time on my computer - goes.

My job requires me to download and open files in new tabs consistently. However, when I download these files, I don't want the download panel to obscure my vision. Can I disable it?

Greetings, I've checked a few articles in Firefox to help with my question, but none of them are helping. (Here's the main article: http://example.com.) Here's the situation. Say I go to a website's Contact page and click the button to contact someone, a window appears and asks me what app I want to use to open the email. Gmail is my default email, and Firefox is my default browser, and I use Windows 10. When I open the window of options (see attached screenshot) to open the email, and I then click "Choose Other Application" (other than Firefox), I don't see the Gmail app anywhere. I then followed the directions in that link above to check my Windows settings, per its suggestion, which I did ... but in those settings, too, I got to a point where the directions no longer matched what I'm seeing on my screen. I didn't see the Gmail app anywhere. Could you let me know in simple layperson's terms how to open Gmail links in Firefox? I don't have a PhD in computer science, so please keep it very simple. For about a month how I find that the Firefox download list opens by itself multiple times during the day. Most of the time I'm not even actively using firefox, it's just idling in the background. When it first happened I figured it'd be a quickly patched bug and so didn't ask around about it. But I've had a ff update since then and it still happens. Does anyone know why this is happening? I have not seen reports of this via search.

I'm on ff 9.0.1.

Lately, when I try to create a desktop shortcut from the Github website, it instead create a folder, with the correct title of the page, and what looks like a link inside, with an abbreviated website name, but is not a shortcut at all.

Example: Try dragging the address bar padlock from this page to your desktop

Same thing happens when I try to drag its bookmark to the desktop.

Creating the shortcut from Chrome works properly, so I assume this is a Firefox problem.

I've read all I could find on the ESR releases and even found this release calendar that indicates that there are two versions, but not why there are two ESR versions.

With the new v85 of Firefox... for Microsoft Print to PDF...

the defaults for print headers & footers has changed and is no longer available to edit or even view. It seems as though my settings remain in place for other printing options like my physical printer but even there the options are not editable or viewable.

There used to be a "page setup" option but I have not be able to find this anywhere anymore.

I'm assuming that it has to do with the bug fix for pdf printing but doesn't seem that it should be an intended outcome of the fix.

How can I completely remove the tab bar and regain 3/4 of an inch of screen space. It would be nice if Mozilla would just have a on/off button for it. I've tried creating a folder called Chrome within my Firefox Profile folder. I then created a text file within that folder and named it userChrome.css. I put this string in the text file #tabbrowser-tabs { visibility: collapse !important; } This did not work, does anyone know the best method for getting rid of the annoying tab bar?

Up until the last update of Firefox I was able to access my router, 192.168.1.1, enter password and check it.

Now I get an error message "connection not secure" "Your connection to this site is not private. Information you submit could be viewed by others (like passwords, messages, credit cards, etc.)

None of this is part of looking at my router, Asus GT-AX11000.

I got a new Asus Vivobook Core i9 16G Ram I did the basic Windows 11 installation for the Laptop and installed TotalAV.

After all Windows 11 updates passed, I wanted to install FireFox anf got this issue: Firefox cannot start correctly (0xc0000022) after version ..

I tried several time to close all Firefox task, uninstall, remove all files from existing profiles (local, roaming, etc...) so as all files under "Programs"". I made sure to get the latest code, but I always get back to this issue.

While opening FireFox, I immediatly get a Crashed Tab reported. Even the Settings are not opening in a Tab.

I even tried to use a older version. Same issue... Never the less I can Update the older version in "About FireFox".

After update I see 122 installed

I used FireFox for many years, and wanted to continue.. In the meantime I installed Opera

When I launch Firefox (version 115.0.1), it establishes and maintains multiple connections to '*.googleusercontent.com' until I close Firefox. This is bull shit is totally unacceptable. I have been using Firefox since version 1.0.6 but I will dump Firefox for another web browser if this problem cannot be fixed.

How do I stop these connections being made?

Since upgrading to Firefox 99.0.1 when I bookmark a web page into a specific folder, the URL does not appear when I open that folder. A restart of Firefox does not fix the issue.

But if I try to Bookmark the same page again, I am asked to edit it. So it must be in the folder but it is not visible! Help!

Majority of the songs do not play and I'm given with a pop-up, "Spotify can't play this right now. If you have the file on your computer you can import it."

I will play a song from a playlist and is given that pop-up, it will continue skipping to the next song until it plays, but only for 9-10 seconds until the song mutes, to specify, the dot (when hovered on the progress bar) will still move, indicating that "it's playing".

Some clarifications: 1. I use Spotify Desktop app (windows), Spotify App (android), and Spotify Webplayer on Chrome and Firefox. Everything works just as fine on all of these, except for Spotify Webplayer on Firefox. 2. Skipping to a later timestamp does not unmute the song. 2. I have Spotify Premium 3. I have no VPN 4. I am running Firefox with an ad blocker 5. I am running Chrome with an ad blocker (same ad blocker in Fifefox) 6. I am running Firefox to the latest version (Firefox 119.0.1 (20231106151204))

Signed-out of Spotify for all my devices, then logging-in first on Spotify Desktop (this automatically redirects to Firefox webplayer) 4. Ran Firefox on "Troubleshoot Mode" 5. Un-checked and re-checked "Play DRM content" setting. 6. Disabled and re-enabled the plug-in "Widevine Content Decryption Module by Google Inc". West Virginia has a website to download old death certificates, but they wont load. There's nothing but a blank page. I'm not positive that it's a Firefox problem, as a friend of mine who uses IE cant load them either, however, she CAN load them on her Tablet. As a historian, I really need to get these records for my research, so I was wondering if someone could go to the site and see of the records appear for them to be downloaded.
