I signed into my firefox account on my wife's computer and now ALL of her bookmarks, passwords are mixed in with my data. I've signed out of both accounts on that computer. I've signed out and relogged in on my computer. This is not a temporary issue. All of her data is somehow in my account. This seems like a MAJOR security flaw of the software. Were both using Windows 11 computers.

Hello, I imported Bookmarks when I came to Firefox from a previous browser. The experience was terrible and challenges still linger. Firefox has come a long way, however UX still seems to be a 2nd class citizen. Bookmarks now has somewhat duplicate directories and this in turn is causing desktop/phone sync doubt and is likely missing bookmarks.

When sync breaks, it is so confusing. How can I simply have a working Bookmarks sync on desktop/phone?

Perhaps there was a challenge when I need Bookmarks to appear in the top bar when a new Tab is opened, as this was contrary to default Firefox settings.

Account sync

I tried linking my unlinked profile to my email, I made a typographical error there and when I tried to undo it, Mozilla says this profile is already linked to that email… (மேலும் படிக்க)

I tried linking my unlinked profile to my email, I made a typographical error there and when I tried to undo it, Mozilla says this profile is already linked to that email. Mind you, I have not even entered a password or verified that email address yet. I cannot even remove that email from the profile now, even if I do and try to re-sign, the accounts page says I am already synced to the typo email.

I wanted to synch my current settings in my browser to import them on my new laptop. When I tried to login to my account, I the message from the attached screenshot appeared. So I created a new profile, got my stuff back to what it should be and then deleted the "new" profile. But now every time I try to get into the correct profile and login into my account, I still get the message from the screenshot. I never ever synched with another profile before and never had an issue in the past. Right now I am rather pissed off, because I lost atleast some of my bookmarks during this whole ordeal.

Sync issue - all extensions lost

I formatted my C drive and reinstalled windows, but logging back into a fresh install of Firefox, none of my extensions showed up. Bookmarks and History, yes. But no extensions.

I've lost them and now I don't even remember what they were. Is there a way to check the history in my account to determine the lost extensions?

So I deleted my old mozilla account since I abandoned the email that it was linked to, but when I tried to sync with my new account I get this. Is there anyway to do this without having to make a new profile?

I tried making a new profile and copy and pasting my profile into the new one, but still get the same pop up. I guess there's something in my profile that says it's been synced before, is there anyway I can find that and delete it or change it?

I can't use the original profile because it says it's outdated, I don't even know if it's the correct profile anyway. What am I supposed to do?

Firefox was somehow reset after windows update restart. I was trying to sign in to sync, but sign in button gets blurred/disabled, and nothing happens then. I am afraid that I lost my previous session also.

I was trying troubleshooting mode too, but behavior is the same.

Otherwise I can login to my Firefox account web, and I am logged in on my smart phone still.

I lost all my data because the synchronization failed

On my Android phone, the data is still there, but when I tap “Synchronize now,” nothing happens either. I’ve tried signing out and signing back in multiple times, but still nothing works.

I also tried switching to a different computer and a different internet connection, but it still didn’t work.

What should I do now?

I recently upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11. I was under the impression that my bookmarks would be saved to my Mozilla account and I could then log in on the new co… (மேலும் படிக்க)

I recently upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11. I was under the impression that my bookmarks would be saved to my Mozilla account and I could then log in on the new computer and the bookmarks would come over also. Is this accurate or will I have to go about recovering my bookmarks a different way?

As of now when I log into Mozilla I get a message at the top saying "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional because one of Firefox's files is in use by another application. I clicked Learn more and tried the troubleshooting options, but no luck in fixing the message or issue. Thanks for your help.

Made Account recovery key - Now I have to sign in on the browser.. But have to make new profile every time

I just wanted create Account recovery key to keep my account more secure. So I did that + updated my password. Now when I open the browser, it says account disconnected a… (மேலும் படிக்க)

I just wanted create Account recovery key to keep my account more secure. So I did that + updated my password.

Now when I open the browser, it says account disconnected and that I need to create a new profile. I did that, but it started syncing from old chrome account with old extensions, bookmarks etc. Plus bookmarks from my phone.

I try to sign in and create new profile with the original profile settings that I want. But it keeps saying "This profile was previously synced to a different account". And now that I saved the bookmarks and made a third, fourth profile. Those don't work as it wants me to sign in. Only the 2nd profile that Firefox made me create which has the old extensions, bookmarks etc. It is missing a lot. So now I am just stuck in create profile loop. And cant use the one I want because I wanted more security? Do I need to uninstall and install again, would that help? I wish there was someone to talk to help me. I just want to use my original profile that I used earlier today to update the security settings.
