so, my computer is getting old, and because of that, it's slowing then. Firefox isn't helping much because it uses too many processes and memory. i tried deleting some extensions, I tried using task manager to close separate processes but i always end closing the wrong one and closing firefox completely i tried going to dom.ipc.processCount and change the count to 1. I'm so confused, it's slowing down my games i play.

My extensions take up a lot of space in my toolbar and I'd love to hide all of them. However - every 'solution' to the problem tells me to right click the extension straight from the toolbar and click 'Hide from Toolbar'.

I do remember this option existing, however I couldn't find it since last update and I'm assuming it was removed. Is there any way to use it again?

^ (Small note, It would also be lovely if I could add them to the Extensions add-on in the toolbar, as that would really be a better use for it other than overflow)

I reinstalled my computer from scratch with Windows 11, before this reinstallation I had Windows 10. Now I noticed that with the newest Firefox version 109 (that I also had before with Windows 10) and Windows 11 my multirow bookmarks toolbar doesn´t work anymore. Before the reinstallation it worked with the following code:

I already tried some other codes that I found in the internet but none of them worked. I have this code in the file userChrome.css, this file is in a chrome folder and this folder is in my profile folder. Can anybody tell me what I have to do to make the multirow bookmarks toolbar working again?

I asked this a couple of years ago - ! But the problem apparently is BAAAAACCCKKKK.....

In my list of bookmarks I have inserted SEPARATOR lines. I cannot find how to delete a separator line. There doesn't seem to be any up to date information online about how to handle this - can someone help?

In the previous fix I would click the three-line icon at top right and to into MANAGING BOOKMARKS, where there was a way to see the list, and I could click on and delete any separator lines I wanted to remove.

Apparently in the newest version of FF this no longer works. Now when I go to Manage Bookmarks, there is a list of my bookmarks, but I don't see any of the separator lines.

I'd be truly grateful for help - thank you in advance.

In the past, going to Wikipedia in Firefox automatically opened a search box to type in a search term. However, with the recently updated Wikipedia interface, Firefox no long opens a search box, so the user must: (a) stop typing (b) grab a mouse (c) click on the magnifying glass icon just to enter a search term. To demonstrate this, please go to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page and you will see there is no search box and you have to manually open the search box.

However, this works perfectly in Chrome. Going to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page automatically opens a search field to easily type into.

Will Firefox be updated to allow immediate access to search field in Wiki? Please see attached .png file and thank you for listening! CW

I recently had to factory reset my computer and had to download and sync my firefox account all over again. It's been a week and firefox is still syncing, none of my bookmarks, add-ons, history or top sites on the new tab are showing up. Thankfully, it appears that most of my passwords have been synced.

I've read some other threads for tips and can confirm that I don't have this account logged in to other devices and I don't have a vpn or proxy running. I am able to obtain the sync logs but I have no idea how to read it.

How can I make the bookmarks, add-ons, history and top sites sync faster?

i cannot print any web page from Firefox. The print option only offers me the option to save as PDF. Firefox is not detecting either my Brother laser printer or my Epson inkjet printer. if i use the print using system dialogue option fire fox shows a printer screen which has a simple entry of line prntr. If that is selected nothing at all happens. Clearly Firefox cannot detect my printers. If I save the web pages to a PDF file then open that file I can then get the normal system printing options and print the page. But all that does is clutter up my file system with files I will only ever use once. This proves the problem is clearly in Firefox and in its inability to detect system printers. I have tried all the suggestions from the help screens to no avail. Is there any other means of sorting this print problem.

In trying to solve my problem, I am going from bad to worse! Embarrassing! Screenshot of Chinese character issue is attached. Also, when I try to sign into Firefox from that page - https://support.cdn.mozilla.net/hi-IN/questions/1381354 - I am blocked from signing in. Somehow I am signed in now, but not sure how. duh! So first, the Chinese characters I need to solve, THEN have a question about an issue with mailto - no gmail default option. I have legacy handlers downloaded, kindly provided by jscher2000. Thank you! Do I drag his legacy handlers into my profile, if I am able to do so? I have tried all other suggestions on this problem. I really hope not to have to start anew with Firefox, because I have years of settings I am afraid I will lose. (Know it is doable, but I am a coward, as well as stupid, apparently.) This is on V109. I really need to be able to choose when an update goes in, Python / Jupyter applications I have running on Firefox can cost me hours of time to re-run if Firefox goes in and restarts itself when it wants to. I used to be able to control this. Has it really been removed, or is somewhere else and the docs not updated yet? Thanks Neil

The latest update added persistent "More Tools" and "Extensions" icons on the top right of Firefox. Usually, by clicking "Customize Toolbar" I could remove any annoying icon that I don't want to persistently see, but it would seem that Firefox DISABLED the ability to remove these annoying icons. Please let us continue to customize our own toolbars and allow us to remove unwanted icons.

I'm trying to get rid of these blue selector things. Apologies that I don't know what they're called. They appear at random times and I cannot force them to appear. Just happens randomly it seems when some text is selected.

Can something in the about:config be toggled to disable this?

Firefox keeps attempting to access a web site with an unwanted application. The site is mv.outbrain.com and my virus software keeps asking to block the site. The popup is now becoming a nuisance how do I stop it or delete the reference to it

While I can click on the extensions button circled in the screenshot to access them, I can't move those extensions to the toolbar directly. When I search for this issue online, everyone says to use the customize firefox menu to add what I want, but as you can see in the picture - no extensions are listed there, although they are installed and functioning. Very weird because my other install, which is up to date, has this set as default and it has been forever. I'm bewildered. Any suggestions? Thanks

The free version allows for 5 masks. Is that 5 lifetime masks or 5 active masks? Example: If I set up 2 masks I have 3 remaining. If I delete one of the set up masks do I now have 4 remaining or have I still used up a mask even though it was deleted giving me 3 remaining? Thanks

I recently updated my system (OpenSuse15.4) which included a Firefox update to version 109.0.

I regularly use my mic for google voice, however even though I can select my microphone in Google voice, It never shows any input.

I tested my mic in other apps and it works fine. When I pull up my systems pulse audio volume control (pavucontrol), it does not show firefox in the recording tab like it used to when using Google Voice.

To test to see if it was a Google Voice error, I also tried testing my mic at https://mictests.com/, and zoom.com, but after selecting my desired input device, mictests.com was also unable to record anything, and again, pavucontrol did not show anything being recorded.

I have attached an image of pavucontrol that shows audacity recording audio. Normally, I would also see Firefox in this window when using the mic.
