Hey guys,

I use Firefox as my primary browser, but lately when I click a Job posting by CUNY the page keeps refreshing and it won't let me click on Apply Now, can you check if the problem is coming from CUNY or Firefox?

Thank you.

I have used Firefox for ages now and love it. I have noticed in the last few months that some functions on some web sites are not able to be accessed. Such as submit, place an order, and the like. I have to use another browser. Is there any reason for this as I really don't like to use any other browser other than Firefox but it seems to be that I have to. Is there some way that I can get around this?

OS: Xubuntu 24.04.1 Firefox: All version for quite a long time up through version 135.

In general I have no problem with direct URLs loaded into Firefox, whether from local links or from remote sites.

However, sometimes, possibly as a result of an embedded link in an email, or from a site that pops-up a new instance of the default browser (i.e., Firefox), the URL is mangled with a local filesystem path prepended to the proper URL. The path seems to be one that Firefox accessed in the recent past. For example, a path such as: /usr/local/bin

When the browser starts up, The URL field will show: /usr/local/binhttps://.........

I then have to delete the leading path component before I can access the URL. I'd include a test case if I could find something repeatable that I could post here, but at the moment I don't have one.

Any ideas why this is happening and any suggestions for a way to stop it.

Thanks.

Over the last week, I've noticed that my Bookmarks in Firefox keep disappearing, it's happened before but they've always come back when I've closed my browser and restarted. Today I went to the Bookmarks and they've gone, I tried closing the browser and restarting my desktop computer too. I've look at every help I can but I can't get the Bookmarks back. I've got (I had) a lot of Bookmarks and preferred to go through the Bookmarks to get to the sites I want. I like Firefox but I really do need the Bookmarks to show. Also, when I tried to import my backup(s) it wouldn't do it either.

I've run Norton full scan but it found no threats.

I'm on W10 Home, 64 bit - Microsoft hasn't update in the last week so I've ruled them out too.

Would some kind person please help, I'd be most grateful as I've run out of things to try - by the way I'm not a techie.

Many thanks Christa

Hi,

I have a dual monitor setup and quite often and randomly, when I launch the browser it opens on the secondary monitor instead of the primary, which is the one I always use. Firefox is up to date: 135.0 (64-bit)

I've read somewhere that I have to move the browser to the primary monitor, resize it so that it is not fully expanded and close. After opening it again it opens on the primary screen and I can maximize it and close again, but when I open the browser again the next day it may open on the secondary screen again... or not, just a very random thing. Any clue?

Thanks, Pere

Hello,

Moving from an older Ubuntu 18.04 machine where Firefox is limited to version 113 to a newer machine running Mint 22 where the current version is 134.

I know how to transfer the profiles but I could not find any information on compatibility.

Would I need to install other versions before 134 to handle any changes?

Thank you

Completely bizarre behavior that I cannot explain or find any google matches for. When I enter a search term in Mail, I don't even have to hit enter, it shows up in Firefox's search field as soon as I make Firefox the active application (iMac desktop). It happens if I have the Firefox search bar open, or if I open it (Cmd-F) afterwards. It happens in Private Browsing. E.g. if I clear the Firefox field, go to Mail, type some letters into the search field, as soon as Firefox becomes the active window, the search term is populated.

I will entertain any explanation or suggestion, whether based in reality or not. FWIW I'm running Malwarebytes unpaid version so I have some sorta protection. For FF extensions I have Ublock origin, FB Purity, and FB container. I tried turning them off; no change. I didn't try restarting FF after turning them off though, too many tabs needed right now.

thanks, jim

The Context: I'm setting up a new Linux PC (Mint OS). I logged into Yahoo Mail using Firefox and clicked on the browser notification in the corner that said something like "Make Yahoo the default for mail links".

The Problem: When I click Mailto links in Firefox it takes me to a broken Yahoo Mail page. The page says "Your mail is temporarily unavailable" when that is not the case - Yahoo Mail works when I manually browse it.

Further details: I confirm that the "Applications" section of Firefox settings shows Yahoo mail as the default for mailto links. And specifically, the application details specify that the url used is: https://mail.yahoo.com/mrd/mail/any/compose?src=mailto&url=%s
