I have recently updated Windows 10 to it's last version, including the Media Feature Pack. Since then certain tabs started crashing on load. This includes all youtube videos I tried and this mozilla support forum. I have updated my graphics drivers and dis/re-enabled WebGL. Also started Firefox/Windows in SafeMode but the crashes still happen.

I have also downgraded Firefox: v63.0.3 - crashes still happened v62.0.3 - crashes stopped happening, (other problems arose)

I've tried to reinstalled Firefox many times but nothing works. Tried Safemode but it didnt help either :( .

Hello everyone. The title I have chosen is justified, as I was a regular user of Youtube (one of the tab crash provoking sites) before updating Windows 10 to version 1809.

The crashes happen in one of two cases, as far as I have tested: 1: Opening a Youtube video -> immediate tab crash. I am not getting crashes on the Youtube homepage, or in search result pages, for example.

2: Ironically, on support.mozzilla.org pages. When I initially started to Google solutions to the problem, I would get it on mozilla's own pages.

With the suggestions from this link: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-crashes-troubleshoot-prevent-and-get-help , I have verified that the same crashes occur in safe mode. I have updated my graphics card drivers. Windows update states that it is up to date. I have reinstalled firefox and executed the option to fully refresh/restart it.

And here I am on chrome, asking for your help as I want to go back to the fox. I'll drop some software & hardware details at the end in case it's relevant. Thanks in advance people!

winver: Windows 10 Pro N Version 1809 (OS compilation 17763.316) GPU is a GTX 1060, on GeForce driver 419.17 CPU is an i7-3770K. 16GB of RAM I have never had any clear problems with. I also run f.lux, MalwareBytes, and MegaSync all the time.

Since upgrading windows N with the windows media pack, Firefox immediately crashes on opening various different websites - mostly video ones (Netflix, any youtube.com/watch...) but also mozilla support. Prior to installing the media pack, youtube videos would play but Netflix would not (but no crashes).

Problem persists in safe mode, with DRM content allowed and not, and with hardware acceleration disabled. Flaser player and video drivers are installed and up to date; Microsoft Silverlight is also installed.

Hey Guys,

Firefox was running smoothly till installing the Windows MediaFeaturePack x64 1809Oct (needed for some other programs). Now the tabs keep crashing when hitting certain sites. I can open Youtube's main page, but no site with an actual video on it. Can't open any site from the support.mozilla domain, etc

I tried: - start FF in safe mode - cleaning and reinstalling FF

Win 10 Pro N 64 17763.316

Any clues on what might help? Thx!

I was getting errors while playing youtube videos : "Your browser does not currently recognize any of the video formats available"

I tried disabling addons and a bunch of other things that I saw googling through the error. I eventually uninstalled and reinstalled firefox to see if a clean installation would work. It didn't. I saw next someone mention that it might be a windows media issue and since I have Windows 10N I've had to download the Windows 10 Media Feature Pack before for something. I tried to download and reinstall that. Since then, it's gotten worse. My tabs how completely crash if there's any video on the tabs. They also possibly crash for other reasons, but I'm not sure (when I go to pages where I don't think there's any video, but who knows.

It seems like there's something wrong with msvp9dec.dll, which seems to be a Windows file. I'm not quite sure what it is or what to re-install to fix it.

I have no idea where my 1st try to ask got landed. So again: Since more than a week I face constantly crashes/crash forms with FF 65.0.1 when trying to Login to my banks. I run win 10 pro 64 bit new installed. FF ran smoth for the first couple of week. It runs w/o crashes in safe mode. "Edge" runs w/o crashes. I get crashes with many links I get from a Google search and when I try to run Videos (i,e, from Spiegel online). Meanwhile I got thru nearly all hints and tips including uninstalling all addons. I even did a clean reinstall twice. So I am now Pretty clueless and would appreciate some help. Thanks in Advance Helmut

Since upgrading Windows 10 to latest 1809 Firefox has started to crash tabs when I go to e.g. Youtube, but even it will crash when I go to support.mozilla.org. So right now I'm using Chrome to even write to support question.

I have tried several things like: turning off addons turn off flash entirely reinstall nvidia drivers

None of it does something. At first I thought it has something to do with video but Twitch works, while Youtube doesn't, nor does Netflix. And some websites such as this support website doesn't work either without crashing the tab.

After reinstalling Windows 10 1809 properly on my computer (total reset), Firefox is unable to access some websites and content such as Mozilla Support page or YouTube videos:

Some details :

- It does'nt happen with other web browsers (tested on Chrome, Edge and Opera). - Youtube homepage loads just fine, but the crash happens when I click on a video, no matter if I'm logged in or not. - Mozilla homepage works just fine, but support page is impossible to reach (I had to use Opera to write these lines) -I installed Microsoft Feature Pack (this one : https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/mediafeaturepack), but no improvement. - I tryed to reset the USERAGENT but it was already by default. - I tryed to reinstall Firefox, no improvement. - I have tryed with and without Adobe Flash, no difference, problem is still here.

Tried "Refreshing Firefox", Safe Mode but it always crashes. If I try to watch any youtube videos or sometime even loading Microsoft.com or other pages crashes the browser.

Whenever I open a tab or website that will play video, the tab crashes with error message. I recently installed Feature Pack for Windows (KB4134255). I don't know if this has anything to do with the crashes. Everything is update, windows, video driver, firefox. Crashes still happen in safe mode.
