I run Firefox standard (84.0.2) on my windows laptop (v10) and try to synchronize with my Mac desktop - OS X Version 10.11.6 with Firefox esr version 78.6.1. It worked in the past and I am not sure when the synch stopped. I have tried to look at the log in about:sync-log but am at loss to understand what all the code means. It does contain a lot of DEBUG ... Thanks for any suggestions!

I have been with firefox for about 6 years and 4 computers. I have never used firefox sync yet everytime before this, my computer has never required me to "sync" to get all my old account details. Please tell me there is a way to restore these without access to the old computer. Its a literal brick now with no possible way to access it.

Hello Is there a way to sync from a device but not to it? I want to be able to see the bookmarks, tabs, history and possibly extensions on my work computer but I do not want my tabs, bookmarks or extensions from my personal devices to sync on the work computer. Is this possible? If not, is there a way, for example, if I use a separate account for work to send/merge the bookmarks and tabs to my personal account?

I have FF on Linux laptop and connected to my FF account to sync. All works fine. However after closing down laptop, restarting, open FF I do not auto reconnect to FF account and sync. What settings do I need so that I auto sync when opening FF? I DO NOT want FF to save site passwords i.e. BBC, TED, etc.

Hi, Had to wipe my laptop and had a copy of me email, password and backup codes for Firefox and it would not accept them. So I have tried to log into the account and when it does not accept the password, I get the email message sent or resent message and nothing.

Not in inbox, junk mail and looked directly via web email. Does not even say account is locked or email rejected. Just stuck.

I have had to create a new account just to be able to ask the question. That verification email came through in seconds.

This is a complete pain as I have literally hundreds of bookmarks/passwords, many I use on a daily basis.

(Unfortunately, this was also the only system I had logged into the account on. Not on phone, tablet or anything else)

Hope there is a simple solution. :'(

Hello I have 5 machines connected to Firefox tabs. However I can see only tabs of 2 of them in the Sync Tabs tools. I can see the machines in Sync configuration tool. Why and how to display the tabs of all the machines? Thanks

Suddenly my firefox crashed, it is more, it ate the ram, I have 32 in ram and I get to consume more than 25, I don't know what happened, so I reset it and deleted the entire account and when I wanted to synchronize, I already had nothing of data.

After the automatic update to Firefox version 84, all my bookmarks, customizations, and add-ons are missing.

I saw something on the upgrade notice page when Firefox first ran (after the upgrade) about syncing to the previous version of Firefox to restore my bookmarks and other custom items, but I cannot find those instructions on the Firefox support site.

How do I get back all the things now missing?

I am planning a move towards the Firefox ESR 78.6.x. Currently my customer is using the Firefox Rapid Release 84.x and need your help with the profile migration. The customer has a very isolated on-premises environment and does not allow the users to login into a Firefox-Account. Therefore the settings for Cookies, Cache, History and especially Bookmarks are not synched.

Environment details:

• Enterprise environment with several tausends of clients
• All clients on Windows 10 Enterprise between 1809 and 20H2
• All clients have always the newest Firefox installed currently 84.x

This creates a huge challenge to sync this stuff. Therefore I have now identified the following two options:

1. 1 Allow the downgrade by using the environment variable MOZ_ALLOW_DOWNGRADE on Windows. For this option I am trying to find the real reason why this "Downgrade-Stop" has been implemented in the first place? What risks in detail do I take to allow this downgrade? Has anybody done this before and do you mind to share your experience here? How many issues did you face and how did you remediate the issues?

1. 2 Hand over the migration to the users. Copy their current profile to their desktop and ask them to import their bookmarks manually. Not preferred by users and I can't even blame them for.

Is there any other way to automatically sync the profiles from 84.x to ESR 78.6.x without user interaction?

After updating my browser, I lost all my bookmarks, I got a warning about syncing with the other device and so did but failed to back up.

The browser has updated and I have factory settings.

Bookmark restore doesn't work as I only have one backup defult after updating.

If there is a chance to recover this data, there was a lot of it, now it will not be realistic to rebuild all these tabs.

I think your browser gets linked to a Google account via computer by a hacker. Everything I do on my phone is not going straight to the intended place. For example when I've answered any emails? They get sent( it looks like it) but in reality, I will find them in Trash? Or Sent? Or other labels. My important email I never get until it's too late? Very frustrating! This person is hateful. I have two computers "A" and "B", side by side, both logged in to Firefox accounts.

They are literally 6 feet apart. Both running 84.0.1 (64-bit). Ran "Sync now" on both, "Refresh status" on both.

What gives?

I have been using Firefox on a surface pro 4. I recently bought a second surface pro 4, and installed Firefox on it as well. I used the second device to browse, and this filled up my top visited sites columns with new thumbnails.

Trying to use the original device, and all of my saved thumbnails with the important websites are gone. It would seem that my first device has synced to the second device, instead of the other way around.

Is there a way to revert to my original layout, before this sync, without having to try to remember all four columns, and pin them manually?
