Windows 10, Firefox 66.0.1 crashes and does not shut down when closed, with these 2 error messages: 1) Mozilla Crash Reporter (all boxes are checked)
When browser is reopened another error message appears: 2) Close Firefox: Firefox is already running, but is not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open a new window.
This appears even after a long delay before restarting Firefox. I have gone through the suggested list of fixes, with no effect.

Basically this happens at any time and it wont let me close Firefox without task manager. in task manager it shows up at system interrupts which uses over 90% of my CPU and at the same time Firefox is using over 10 GB of ram. i have had a look at some fixes like disabling hardware acceleration and stuff but none have worked so far.

I was forced into updating FF over the weekend of 5-5-19. I lost all of my addons and settings. Then to add to the agony the updated version started to slow to a crawl. Then on Monday ver 66 was installed. Now the browser is so slow that I can't use it. Typing letters takes up to 30sec to display the letter I am typing. It's insane that Mozilla can reduce a perfectly good browser into a non-functioning browser. Does anyone know if there is going to be a fix for this or do I have to suffer with Chrome from now on? I need to actually do work on the computer not play with settings and fiddle with different suggestions to make it work. A browser should just -work-. I should have stuck with ver 28 which did work well.

I am using an HP laptop and running the latest version of Windows. Firefox worked just fine about a week ago. However, after rebooting my computer the browser will not open at all anymore and nothing is working. I click the app and nothing happens. I've tried running it as an administrator. I've tried using the RUN commands, nothing. I've tried uninstalling and each time it tells me that Firefox must first be closed before I can uninstall, but it never opens anything in the first place for me to be able to close it and so I have to reboot my computer all over again to even uninstall the app. This is extremely frustrating because certain online applications I use for work are only compatible with Firefox. I've tried deleting temp folders in the program data, nothing. Please help! You have no phone support and this is a very pressing issue!

For the last week Task Manager is showing Firefox using lots of CPU, causing fans to come on in laptop, at the same time 'FLOW' is showing about the same high usage. I never installed Flow. When I 'end task' on Flow Firefox reverts to normal. But Flow reappears on it's own. If I remove Conexant Flow, it comes back again. Can anyone help? It also worries me why Flow should be using so much CPU, when (apparently) it is only a driver?

Getting frequent "Firefox has stopped working" in version 65.0.1 using Win7 64 bit version. This problem began after the latest update and the only option is to close the program and restart. None of the websites that it has failed on so far have been unusual as I use them daily and have for years. All of my addons are standard that I have also used for ten versions back and all are up to date.

Hello! (FF 65.0.1) I recently tried to access the preferences page but I get an error of "Unresponsive Script" on "resource://gre/modules/Localization.jsm:444"
Starting in Safe Mode solved the issue so I opened FF again and disabled all extensions but not luck. So I tried disabling Hebrew (using Hebrew on my FF) on the languages tab and it solved the issue.
What can I do to keep using Hebrew and to be able to access the preferences?

I read someone's response for another question which gave direction on copying and pasting the crash reports that I had submitted but I did not understand what to do with the most recent 5 after I copied them. It freezes a few minutes after opening, and freezes my Mac as well. Takes at least 5 minutes before it unfreezes. I am not getting crash reports. I think this started right after the latest update.

It doesn't matter whether I click from a link to go to You Tube or go there directly and try to find a video. Firefox locks up either way. I can use other browsers but Firefox is my browser of choice and I always forget to use another browser until it's too late. How can I fix this?

I cant do anything in the interface which goes glitchy after a while, forcing me to shut it from task bar and restart. It took me a while to understand the problem was with the youtube video. If i dont open that link, everything works normal. Also, Earlier (till yesterday) i was watching that video without any such problem.
I tried updating and reinstalling firefox completely but still facing the same issue with this particular video. I cant figure out whats the problem !

I have an issue with firefox when I try to download files (ex: pdf, etc...) When I click on the link, I have the popup that appear to display if I want to open or store my file in the folder. And it's the moment that Firefox freeze (I try to select radio button answer for example and I have to wait 1 min for example before I can do it)
I have tried to start from a fresh profile.
I have the latest version 64.0 of my browser (on Linux Mint)
Do you have any idea of how I can fix the issue ?

Just for the past few days 12-19-18 or so I've noticed this happening. I'll get an email, click "print" and it will open the email in a pop-up window. I select "Adobe PDF" as the printer, and then a window usually comes up showing the progress, and then it opens the pdf in Adobe Acrobat.
Recently, however, when that window comes up and shows the progress bar, it freezes. Sometimes I get error messages (shown in screenshots) but mostly I have to go to Task Manager, shut down firefox.exe processes, and I can't print the file to a PDF at all anymore. When I use this feature in Chrome, it works fine. I mean, it used to in Firefox, too, I don't know what changed.

The longer I go before I bow to the pressure, the LESS FireFox actually WORKS. Right now, I'm trying to read an email message. FireFox has basically shut down OTHER than this page. Anything else? Nope. I am seriously considering going back to the despised IE. I hate Windows, but this is SO ANNOYING! Shouldn't I have ANY say as to whether or not I WANT to upgrade? Because I am denied that choice. I either DO it, or FireFox will refuse to work. Thanks loads. Every upgrade, I spend DAYS getting things back to where I want them. I just get them right and I get notice of ANOTHER upgrade. Why not wait until you get it RIGHT??????
