I installed Firefox on a fresh Win 11 install, and most of the the favicons are still generic on the Home Page several days later. Facebook, Ebay and Youtube are the only ones that appear consistently, sometimes other will display, but then be gone again the next time the app is launched. All other links just have the generic letter icons.

I tried deleting the 3 favicon files in the Profiles folder, but it did nothing. I've tried manually re-adding the links, still nothing. I removed the "S" from "https;//" and still nothing. The favicons all show up on my other machines which use Firefox on the same user account, so it is not a problem with the websites themselves.

Not sure if its related, but upon installing Firefox on this machine, it made Firefox on my Mac desktop absolutely freak out. I had to make a significant number of changes over the course of hours to fix everything, so many relating to favicons alone that I don't know what actually fixed it.

What else can I do to try and get these working? Why does Firefox apparently struggle with this particular feature across multiple OSes?

Today, all of a sudden, I lost my usual browser window that displayed all my bookmarks. The browser window looked completely different in a bad way and I have lost quick access to my most familiar sites. Moreover, the page displays sponsored ads, none of which is either of my choosing or of my liking. I am completely disoriented and Firefox has greatly disappointed me. Please help!

Hi community The option to set, how many rows of shortcuts should be visible on the Firefox start screen, is a good idea. E.g. I set 3 rows and fill them with relevant shortcuts. The shortcuts in the bottom row always changes when I visit several websites. My understanding is: Setting the shortcuts as necessary and that's it! Wtf happens, that the last row changes all the time, that makes me fussy. regards wolf

I live in Las Vegas. Why does M Firefox post the wrong city with the weather at the top right corner of my browser window? It will not allow me to change it either. I drop it open, change the zip, press "enter" and it remains Tuscon.

I read the FAQ about this feature. I read this about whether the stories are personalized to me:

... When personalization does occur, recommendations rely on a process of story sorting and filtering that happens locally in your personal copy of Firefox.

But there is no place that tells me how to turn this off if I don't want the stories personalized to me, and I do not want them personalized. The algorithms make assumptions about what I want to read and learn. But I want to be free to encounter and learn things that I might not otherwise come across.

How can I avoid being pigeonholed and limited in this way?

On google search bar- where is the microphone, or dictation icon. How do I add it. I have windows 11 and using Mozilla firefox as my default web browser. I have search the settings and cannot find it. Please send instructions to add it to the bar. If I were to use chrome/google they have it and I know Firefox did have it. Thank you

I am experiencing an issue with the shortcuts (Top Sites) on the New Tab page. Despite disabling the relevant options, unwanted websites are automatically appearing based on my browsing history.

I need to manually control and add all shortcuts myself, and I do not want Firefox to automatically suggest them.

I have set the following preferences to false and the issue persists:

   browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.feeds.topsites

   browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.feeds.section.topstories

   browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.feeds.section.highlights

   browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.showSponsored

   browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.showSponsoredTopSites

I also tried setting the maximum number of Top Sites to 0 using:

   browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.feeds.topsites.limit (Assuming this is the correct preference for the limit, as the one you listed was repeated)

Could you please advise on what other preference might be causing the automatic generation of these shortcuts?"

I have lost all the short cuts on my home page. As I use these very frequently, this is a big problem for me. I know this problem has been raised previously, but none of the solutions work for me.

I have checked the short cuts still exist in about:config...newtabs.pinned. They are still there. I've refreshed Firefox. I've loaded the latest version I've toggled the number of lines of short cuts in 'customise' I've enabled sponsored short cuts I can get recent activity slots, and curated stories. I do not want to set up a completely new profile as I have an extensive list of bookmarks.

Is there anything else I can do?

All of the settings I had setup for my "new tab" page have disappeared, having been reset to some default Firefox page. How can I recover these shortcuts without having to recreate everything from scratch? Even my background has been updated without my consent.

I am using Firefox Browser 145.0 and CCleaner Free version 7.1.1042.0. Either CCleaner wiped out the 4 rows of saved shortcuts, or, I have a unwanted Checked or unchecked Firefox setting. The home Firefox page is black, with no tiles showing, no way to add tiles as far as I can tell

One of the things I like most about Firefox is the home page with 'tiles' for my most used websites. Since the last upgrade some of my tiles have the website logos but most do not. Is there a way I can fix this?

Hi! So I just installed firefox and I got onto annoying issue. I like using shortcuts on my homepage, but I started to get some shortcuts added automatically and they bother me a lot. I tried removing them or deleting from history, but as soon as I click the button, one shortcuts gets removed and immediately gets swityched with another one automatically. So I'm stuck in the infinite loop of removing shortcuts and my manually added ones just get lost in all this mess.

My browser has been hacked by searchingswift.com, I've read all the article's I can find on getting rid of it with no luck. I've completely uninstalled everything including the mistake that brought it in (Coverseen miss pick file), but no luck.

Here's what I get after a complete reinstall and deleting any Firefox stuff I can find.

I'm getting ready to do a backup from a month ago, but I'm not sure if this will come back in with my Firefox sign in.

Windows 11 and New Firefox

I've unchecked all three boxes, but the two sub-boxes stay checked and the sponsored stories and links continue to appear even though I unchecked the boxes. See attached image. How do I disable? Why can't I uncheck these boxes? I was actually just trying to disable it for a few, not all of my computers, but, now that it's being forced on me, I'm a bit unhappy with Firefox. I've supported, promoted, and used them for years but now they seem to be following the same path of other prying browsers. :(
