when i open a new tab it automatically opens up "www.news.net",how can i stop this ?

when i click on the plus tab symbol the new tab expands out and shows "Australianews.com.au" and then will display in the search window "www.news.net/index.php?referid=134" and loads this website, who can I stop this ?
