i have tried everything and still cannot get my firefox to respond
I can get my browser to open, but then it says it is not responding. I have tried to start in safe mode, to reset, and even reinstalled Firefox and it is still not working. I have also ran a malware check and restored my computer. I have went through the troubleshoot and am unable to fix the problem. I can get online through explorer, but I love and miss my Firefox. What else can I do? I just tried to add troubleshooting info and it says it can't find the program to open it. Ughhhh, I am really getting pissed off! I am not a computer expert, I am at the equivalent to about a 5th grader when it comes to computer knowledge. Please help! Thank you in advance for any assistance.

I finally figured it out! I was about to the point of taking my laptop out behind the barn when my daughter called. I told her I had been working on my laptop and she said, oh did you check your java? She said that when her Firefox acts up, its usually just java. So I went and downloaded java, restarted my laptop, and its back! Thank you to ideato for your help! And hopefully this will help others with the same problem in the future!

Hello kittykat73model, try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) and check firefox again.
(If works in Windows Safe mode then probably you have problem with other software, like security software or maybe a system driver, that is running on your computer).
thank you
I restarted in safe mode. I opened the firefox and it did not show not responding. However I was unable to connect to the internet in safe mode, so I don't know if it is a system driver yet or not. How do I start in safe mode and be able to connect to my wireless router? If it does turn out to be a system driver or something, how do I figure out which one it is? Thanks so much for helping me!!!
