I don't know what I'd done, but the next time I opened firefox, another tab opens up automatically to a search engine called 'delta-homes.com' I have no idea what this is or how to remove it. I deleted my history and caches, as well as having uninstalled and reinstalled firefox. Is this possibly a virus? And Does anyone know how to remove it?

Your System Details List shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize some prefs on each start of Firefox.

The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created it, so normally it wouldn't be there. You may want to check its content with a plain text editor if you didn't create this file yourself.

The user.js file is read each time you start Firefox and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so involved preferences can only be changed temporarily for the current session.

in addition to removing the user.js file, also run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the free version of malwarebytes & adwcleaner.

Where am I able to find and remove the user.js file?

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

Windows hides some file extensions by default.
Among them are .html and .ini and .js and .txt, so you may only see a name without file extension.
You can see the real file type if you open the Properties via the right-click context menu

I found a file or two in the Firefox profile folder named 'delta' which I have removed, but I don't know if that's done the trick. But thank you both very much for your help.

Did you also remove the user (user.js) file or at least check its content with Notepad?

The user.js file contains pref settings that Firefox will restore on each start of Firefox.

No I didn't, but after deleting the 'delta' file from my computer, I found it hadn't been deleted when I opened up Troubleshooting Information in the Firefox Profile Folder in the user.js file (If I've got it right). I thus reset Firefox from the troubleshooting information screen and it seems to have been removed.

It's a browser hijacker, see this:

The guide includes a "Download Anti-Malware" button that starts a SpyHunter-Installer.exe download. Enigma Software's SpyHunter is a questionable product that may be difficult to uninstall. The "free" scanner only detects malware and requires payment before malware is actually removed. (ref. 1 ... ref. 2)

Moderator removed link that references paid software that users may not necessarily need.

Delta homes is a malicious browser hijacker. It seems very difficult to remove it manually. I found a step-by-step delta-homes removal guide for your reference:
