Bookmarks tab is gone with the installation of Firefox 23

When I started Firefox this morning, it did an automatic update of Firefox. Once Firefox started the Bookmarks tab in the Bookmarks toolbar was gone.

I found it. The bookmarks tab has been replaced by a small black box with a star.

You get the Bookmarks Menu button on the Navigation Toolbar if the Bookmarks Toolbar is hidden and the Menu bar is hidden as well (no Bookmarks menu).

  • Firefox menu button > Options
  • View > Toolbars (press F10 to display the menu bar)
  • Right-click empty toolbar area
