firefox.exe -p created new profile. seems to be working for now. note: you will have to restore your favs passwords and addons after doing this.

Recent crashes of certain multimedia contents (this includes Youtube videos, certain flash games and other applications) in conjunction with Firefox are most probably caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update and/or a malfunctioning Real Player browser plugin.

In order to remedy the problem, please perform the steps mentioned in these Knowledge Base articles:

Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems

Adobe Flash plugin has crashed - Prevent it from happening again

Flash 11.3 doesn't load video in Firefox

Other, more technical information about these issues can be found under these Links:

Please tell us if this helped!

You can check for problems caused by recent Flash updates and try these:

disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

i appreciate the help but coping and pasting old links doesnt help much.

The current version of Flash Player for Windows is 11.6.602.180.

Can you install Flash if you disable the antivirus temporarily first?

hello, maybe it's an issue with the protected mode in the flash plugin - you could try if downgrading to flash 10.3 (which is still supported) or disabling protected mode makes a difference.

i just cant put my finger on it. the check page tries to load and shows the current ver number. but the graphic doesnt play. it stops. flash doesnt work in ie either. i just wonder why im getting a hit on the AV. i might try on flashes forums too before i disable AV. but everything works fine in chrome.

i tried with addones disabled too. and it wanst much better. could it be my video card drivers? ive had trouble with it and my whole system since i installed a new card. almost a year ago. i just updated the drivers. btw i did a "restore of ff a few weeks ago.

Flash 11.6.602.180 doesn't load video in Firefox Downgrading flash wasnt a option for me nor was creating a new firefox profile so I played and played and I have noted that firefox with adblock plus 2.2.3 installed was causing youtube videos to show a black snowy screen instead of a video (Which played before updating flash player). what I did was open firefox, click tools>adblock plus>filter preferences Click the custom Filters Tab, then highlighted the "Ad Blocking Rules" this will display all your filter rules to the right scroll down the list until you find ||youtube.com^ Uncheck the box to the right to disable this ad rule. Click Close......Restart Firefox and see if youtube works.

Note: This may be the problem for other websites as well....so you may want to just disable adblock altogether and see how your websites act.

Thanks this was driving me crazy.....turning off protected mode fixed the problem (well worked around it anyway).
