Development of a product or tool should NEVER take features away unless they present a continuation obstacle or a security issue. I do not like the "topp sites" because when I come back from travel, my top sites are all related to where i WAS not home or where I am going. I want my FF mobile to work like my FF on my workstation.

Please stop making this promise. There are no immediate plans to add a home page.

Firefox starts up with a light weight native Java UI. At the beginning of startup we don't have a way to render html pages. Using a page requested over the network would greatly increase the time it takes to starup and show the first page.
