Hi

i've just installed Firefox v13.0 on Windows XP. I have clicked the "Check to see if your plugins are up-to-date" four plugins needed updating. I have done 3 but i have a plugin called "Citrix ICA Client" with a status "Outdated Version". Action "Update". When i click on the update link it goes nowhere.

Appears to have been fixed over the weekend. The offending plugin now reports "? Research" instead of an "Update" link.

For very specific or obscure plugins, Firefox can't always find all the information it needs. The same happens when it tells you to do your own research regarding its status. You'll just have to manually update it yourself, or try and find the web page that triggers the plugin and see if it prompts for an update. A quick web search will do.

Yes this is the bug, it should either be showing "? Research" in grey, or the link should go somewhere.

The fact that it has "Outdated Version" rather than "Unknown Plugin" in the status column suggests firefox knows where this plugin is.

Well then that's quite odd. Maybe the plugin only came with a separately installed program, so there is no way to download it manually.

The problem persists in firefox v13.0.1. I have manually upgraded my plugin to the latest version (12.3.0.8), but when i run the "Check to see if your plugins are up to date" link it annoyingly still has Status "Outdated Version", Action "Upgrade" in orange with a link that goes nowhere.

Still getting an annoying orange 'Upgrade' indicator in v14.0.1. Any ideas how to get rid of this?

I'm having the same problem. Did you find a solution?

This appears to be a bug in Mozilla Firefox but no one has yet filed a report in Bugzilla

If you would be so kind to give more details, I will help you and the others to file a bug report so engineers can take a look at it.

I have filed a bug report.

Please follow Bugzilla # 807886 and include your e-mail addresses to participate and get updates.

Thank you

  1. I have this problem too: "Google Earth Plugin - GEPlugin - Outdated Version - [Update]" , but I find it hard to believe that indicates an obscure program, and the dud link [Update] is no help.
  2. This problem has persisted for several Firefox updates.
  3. I can find related discussions at Google, but not what should be an easily found page to download the 'GE plugin for Firefox'.
  • I'm using a current Win XP & Firefox.

Hi dubious, thank you for opening up this issue also with your add-on. Please do, however, create a new question (and a bug report, if possible) so we can separate the troubleshooting and tracking.

Thank you

For info, the problem persists in firefox v17 and no-one appears to be interested in working on the issue in Bugzilla.

I ping'd the assigned developer to get some updates. We'll just wait for his reply. Thanks
