I have the same problem with Firefox 13.0.1 and latest Flash and Nvidia versions all is running on WinXP + SP3.

Firefox freezes always when searching images on Google without crash. It doesn't matter whether FF is in private or normal mode.

I tried to resolve it with reset to default settings, cleaned cache and new profile, but the problem remains.

When this happens I just try to scroll and my Dual Core CPU is already 100% overloaded. Page is loaded I can see some results from image search, but suddenly all becomes unresponsive. After waiting for a long time I can switch and still able to work with other windows with other tabs, but when I go back to the tab with Google image search results all start again 100% CPU overload and FF is unresponsive.

Currently I have only one option to resolve it by Disable new Google Images search style. It annoying but simply using this template for search queries http://www.google.com/images?q=Firefox&sout=1 where is necessary only to place search text on q=**** in the given url.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

I haven't found malware. Firefox freezes on Google Image Search results when scrolling and CPU usage spikes. It's ok If I don't try to scroll.

Nothing new, I stopped using Google to find images with FF13.

On screen it looks like it is not scrolled but in fact it would have scrolled down. Ie It appears like GRAPHIC FREEZE.
