Every time I open firefox now i get this error msg from skype TypeError: Components.classes['@softage.ru/skype/SkypeFfExtension;1'] is undefined ) edit

Lots of my addons stopped working including my google toolbar so now i wish to resolve this and wish to know my options

1) I am afraid to cause problems if i go back to older version because i did not do certain things before i go back to older version read that it caused other problems no browser to open what must i do exact steps to do a smooth reinstall of older version 4 firefox if this is the last one before firefox 5

2) how do i correct the problem i am getting with skype error msg above and can i operate skype safely with this error msg

3) what kind of problems will i have if i revert to older version of firefox 4 and do not keep new updated versions -- can i have security problems or anything else if i choose to just not upgrade any more
