Your banner may be missing its background image, resulting in white text on a white background. This article has a number of troubleshooting steps to try for that problem: Images or animations do not show | Troubleshooting | Firefox Help.

Regarding the other issues, they don't sound related. They could be caused by an add-on. Have you tried Firefox's Safe Mode to see whether you can use Facebook and Yahoo mail normally?

First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See Backing up your information. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)

Next, try starting Firefox in Firefox Safe Mode. Be careful not to "reset" anything permanently if you didn't back up.

Does that fix it?

No, that did not do it. I am positive the the problems are related. I never ever have loading problems with yahoo or the Facebook thing, when I can see everything in my home page. This does not happen with IE, but I do not want to run IE

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Windows Accessibility settings.

You can see all images on the page if you change browsers for a while. I am on IE right now and all is fine. Can get Yahoo mail and Facebook to work.

I get a login page, so maybe attach a pair of screenshot to show what you see.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

• Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems:

• Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.

I finally got my wife to show me the snipping tool. I was trying to save a print screen and was going nowhere. So here it is. Remember that all the tabs under the box are functional.

What do you see in Tools > Page Info > Media abut that image if you open the right-click context menu of that image and select View Image Info ?

Is that image grayed ?

Can you open that image in a tab if you copy the content of the location field of that image and paste it in the Firefox location bar?

Click the URL in the location field of that image and press Ctrl+A and Ctrl+C to copy the link text to the clipboard.

The location is greyed out. I put the link for the top bar in the URL bar and it would not open.

That image loads for me when I click the link in your reply. I'm also using Fx4.0.1 on Windows 7. cor-el has listed the usual tips for troubleshooting images in an earlier reply.

Yes I did try it and it had the same result.

Do you have security software (firewall) that can block (GIF) images?

BTW. I can load yahoo mail only after it says" opps can't load", so I hit try again and it loads. On Facebook, as long as I can't get the top image on the home page, I can write in the status box's but when I hit enter the status or any other remark does not load. So no updating anything for me on FB as long as I run FF.

OK I went to Norton 360 and turned off the" browser protection". Restarted FF and now I get the whole page. Now what does this make me vulnerable too? Maybe I should have a chat with Symantec.

Whow, I went to Symantec Norton and got on the chat line, I spent 45 mins. and the guy in India did not have a clue about what was going on. So I let them control my pc and I went to show them what happens when I have the browser protection was on and when I went to turn protection back on is was on!!!

The .gif file on the top of my home page shows up, I can get to Yahoo mail and I can post on Facebook.

A funny thing that was happening after I turned the protection off was FF would not allow me to refresh a page, curious.

I know it sounds crazy, but this is not the only time I've heard that changing a setting and then changing it back fixes a problem. The software equivalent of turning it off and on again. So it's fixed now?

Looks like things are almost normal now, the only thing I have now is this, showing up on one of my pages. I click allow and it re-pops back up again, never ending unless I close the box.

Damn this snipping tool program is great for showing you what it going on.
