How do I access the advanced settings page (not in Firefox > Preferences) and change the destination of newly opened tabs (1/0 setting)?

I did this before and it worked perfectly, but I had a major problem and had to reinstall my OS. The default setting (starting with 3.6?) drives me crazy and I want all newly opened tabs to report to the end of the line. I found the solution on (this?) forum (last year?) but could not find it in a search (thread deleted?). I would rather not download and use the add-on New tabs do not appear to the right of the last tab since I know it is a simple 1/0 setting in the Firefox core settings. How do I get there and do this?

I am using Mac OS 10.5 and Firefox 4

Set the pref browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent to false on the about:config page.

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.
