Saving Firefox bookmarks/favorites

I am running Windows XP and for some reason Firefox will not start up. I want to re-install but want to save my bookmarks so that i can import them back in. Does anyone know where this bookmark/favorite file might be located?

They are stored in a file called places.sqlite in your profile folder.
