The wifi icon shows connected to the internet yet when I try to connect it shows message cannot connect to browser and maybe Firefox has a firewall .

Hi, could you check this article: Firefox can't load websites but other browsers can.

Any improvement so far?

The Firefox web browser does not have a built in firewall. Any firewall you have in use will be on OS and or on hardware like a router.
