the bookmarks menu won't list alphabetically. I have gone to manage bookmarks and chose sort A to Z. It will sort right then, but when I exit that menu it goes right back to not alphabetical

thanks I found past threads and read up. I created a new folder and moved bookmarks over, then sorted them. I do believe it wasn't like that before, just showed the list without opening a folder. But problem is solved thanks for your help, much appreciated

I assume that you are referring to the Views menu in the Bookmarks Manager (Library). As its name indicates, this only sorts the bookmarks in the Library for viewing purposes and doesn't actually sort the bookmarks. You need to right-click a folder and click "Sort By Name" to sort its content.

Not sure where there is a folder to click on. Here is what I see when I click on bookmarks in top menu. I understand the whole view thing but bookmarks are not in a folder that I can see. thanks

That would be the Bookmarks Menu folder in the sidebar or in the left panel in the Bookmarks Manager (Library).
