FF Auto-updates
As I understand it, FF will soon start updating regardless of my settings. I have my update set to "Never", but it sounds as if I will no longer have say in all of this mess.
The most important feature for me is the old Tab Groups V. 2.1.4. It by far the biggest time-saver I have. Without this, I would have a heck of a time manually bringing up various tabs all the time and it would entirely foul up my schedule.
How do I keep TB from automatically updating?
Anyone know a replacement for the Tab Groups that could just take my existing tabs (over 100) and use them w/o doing it manually?

The 'NO option was removed from browser settings.
Step one: How do you completely turn off update checks in Firefox v64? You can use a policies.json file to disable updates for all users. https://github.com/mozilla/policy-templates/blob/master/README.md or https://winaero.com/blog/disable-updates-firefox-63-above/

You can use the ManualAppUpdateOnly policy in Firefox 87+ to enable only manual updates e.g. via "Help -> About Firefox".

Unfortunately, I must remain w/ V. 56.0 in order to save my critical Tab Groups app which will not run in any higher version. If I understand correctly, I would need to update quite a bit in order to tell FF that I don't want any updates (I suspect some of the programmers are employed by the government, ha!) Kinda like the general who, during the Vietnam war, told Congress or the press that the military had to destroy a hamlet in order to save it.
So: 1) Is there any way to opt out of the updates permanently from within V. 56.0? 2) Is there an app that can work using the present Tab Groups data? 3) Any other work-arounds?
I am running the latest version of Windows 10 on a desktop PC. I understand about the security risks, but I have several anti-malware apps that seem to keep a very close eye on anything in-coming and on the computer itself. I realize this is not the safest way to go, but w/o my tabs app, I would be virtually dead in the water work-wise. I am often dealing w/ 20+ tabs back and forth and maybe that many more during the course of the day. It would take up half my day just to open all the sites I would need and one window would get very busy w/ that many sites open. Thanks, Wolfgang
I didn’t like where Firefox Quantum was going. So, I stopped updating at v54. So far, no real issues.
I have noticed, however, that some websites don't work properly.
