SafeOpt emails
I browsed a clothing website for less than 5 minutes by typing in the address and not using any links. Shortly after I receive an email asking if I was still interested in what I was looking at. Does Firefox share my email address with websites I'm visiting? I believe the email is coming from SafeOpt, not the website I visited. I do have "do not track" options selected in Firefox.

Likely it's something about what the website is doing. A tracking cookie for example.
Did you login or otherwise give the site your e-mail?
The was the first and only time I've been to that website. I didn't get there through a link from any email. I went straight to the website from my Firefox browser. I have no account with that website and didn't enter my email address yet I got an email from them a few minutes after closing my browser.
Provide the website and lets see what happens when we visit the site. Also, what email service are you using?

You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
- Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
- type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return
In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions. On the right side, find the "Manage Your Extensions" heading.
If there is at least one extension before the next heading -- "Recommended Extensions" -- please continue:
Then cast a critical eye over the list below that heading. Any extensions Firefox installs for built-in features are hidden from this page, so everything listed here is your choice (and your responsibility) to manage. Anything suspicious or that you just do not remember installing or why? If in doubt, disable (or remove). For your privacy and security, don't let mystery programs linger here.
What email service?
So far I have not received any email from the site. It would be nice to know what add-ons you are using.

Thank you both... I do not have any add ons with SafeOpt. I only have one enabled, and that is Glance Screen Sharing. The rest on the list are the recommended ones that I have not enabled.
My email service provider is a local company called ElbertonNet which is a POP3 email, not IMAP. My email software (Outlook) was not running at the time.
A quick search for "SafeOpt" and there are interesting stories about this company.

That is indeed interesting. And if I had navigated to that website via a link of any kind, I can see how they might have tracked me. But to type the address into the browser and leave without giving any personal information is still a bit puzzling. I'm signed into Firefox with the email address that they sent the email to.
How you got to the site does not matter. Once you are there the computer sends some data about the browser and your system (but not your e-mail).
On the Settings page, Privacy & Security panel, there's a Cookies and Site Data section. In that section, you can
(A) Use the "Manage Data" button to remove any existing cookies for safeopt.com (and perhaps there are related servers?) that may have been set for cross-site tracking
(B) Set a block exception using the "Manage Exceptions" button for https://safeopt.com (and perhaps there are related servers?) so their cookies can't be set in the future
Worth a try?
Yes that it certainly worth a try. It just seems that SafeOpt possibly has my email address linked to my ip address of the computer I was using at the time. I don't see any other way a website I've been to only once can send me an email with the image of their product that I briefly looked at asking me if I was still interested when I never game them my email address or any other personal info.

That is interesting that they say they may not be able to remove your personal information. But...I checked for cookies on both computers that I use. One had nothing on it from safeopt.com, but the other one (the one that was used to visit the original website) did indeed have cookies from safeopt.com. I have deleted those cookies and put a block on for their website. Hopefully this will take care of the problem. Thank you all!
