you may have something installed that is blocking the download.

Are you able to download other file types?

I can't download any file type

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for a download manager.

This download manager works separately from the browser. The browser tells it what to download, and off it goes.

http://www.freedownloadmanager.org It is a powerful modern download accelerator and organizer for Windows and Mac.

In that case following FredMcD's advice might be your best bet.

can you suggest a type of download manager?

I dont know Ali ?

I think in your particular case, you may be better off with installing a download manager that is not intertwined with the FF system. And if the download manager could not also download, then this would be a clue to investigate.

Alternatively, I think you must have something blocking the downloads.

As a test, can you disable (temporarily) all your anti-,malwares, anti-virus's, etc... Can you also disable the Firewall. If you have parental controls turned on, this may also be an issue. IF you have installed themes and add-ins for FF, try disabling these too.

Inside FF options, there are little settings about "warning/blocking things that FF deems dangersou", per se.

There is also something in FF network options about choosing DNS over HTTPS. But not sure if this could be a problem. But would hurt to redo the settings.

btw: does this happen with other browsers on your system?

Something that came to mind, is that downloads are initially done in the temporary folder. Then once its 100% complete, will be moved to the download folder.

So double check to see if the temporary folders are clean and empty and accessiable.

On my system, i "always" create c:\temp and then change the system environments to use it.

I posted an answer a long time ago (I quoted FredMcD's suggestion), but it hasn't been cleared by a moderator yet; it will show up later, probably above ·´¯`·...¸>-)))º> ~dbben's posts.
