Firefox using alot of battery in the background.

Computer repairman attempting to help this older lady on her computer. Old battery was puffed up and expanded. Replaced but only getting a couple of hours of use. Checked battery usage and firefox is the main component of the issue. Any ideas on why this is? Battery usage in background is 34% and no other app on the computer is like this. Completely up to date.

I called for more help.

It's possible the computer was damaged by the old battery. Wires frayed. terminals corroded . . . .

You can check the Firefox Task Manager (about:performance) and about:memory pages.
