I'm running the most recent Firefox in both the 18.04 and 20.04 releases of Ubuntu. I cannot log into either Gmail, or Slack. I believe this is a version problem because on an older, CentOS 7 operating system and Firefox, this is not a problem. I have tried removing history, to no avail.

Which is the most recent version of Firefox on Ubuntu 18.04 and 20.04? Do you use any sort of add-ons (e.g., Multi-Account Containers), and which ones? What are your privacy settings regarding cookies? What about your Enhanced Tracking Protection (ETP) settings? What are they set to? Did you try to temporarily disable ETP when logging into Gmail or Slack (the blueish shield icon next to the security lock icon in the address bar)?
