Hi Rowshan, I'm not sure what you mean about being stuck. For example, the Facebook logo, does it take you to the FB home page? Or the link to your website, does that work?

Do you use the Facebook Container add-on to isolate your Facebook browsing from other sites?

I guess this is a problem with where words break. Firefox isn't using the ! as a word break point, it is considered just another character in a very long name. I don't know if there is anything you can do about that.

Sorry for the poor choice of words. When I said "stuck" I mean I can't do anything on facebook. You name it & I can't do it: Go to other pages;load photos;etc. Nothing. Regarding the word break: I've seen people with more characters than myself & I don't see any breaks at all. Once again I don't have this problem in Explorer.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

Warning ! ! This will log you out of sites you're logged in to. You may also lose any settings for that website.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}
by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).
Did this help?

While you are in safe mode;

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

Here's what I see:

(1) Microsoft Edge and IE 11 on Windows 10

(2) Firefox 77 and Google Chrome on Windows 10

If you don't see any line break at all, maybe it's a difference in fonts or font sizes on our systems.

Problems not solved guys.

To recap the problem: after that specific page loads -- does it load fully? -- all links are dead/nonfunctional.

  • No improvement after clearing the cache
  • No improvement after removing Facebook cookies
  • No improvement in Firefox's Safe Mode

Could you try:

New Profile Test

This takes about 3 minutes, plus the time to test your problem site(s).

Inside Firefox, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it.

Click the "Create a New Profile" button, then click Next. Assign a name like June2020, ignore the option to relocate the profile folder, and click the Finish button.

After creating the profile, scroll down to it and click the Launch profile in new browser button.

Firefox should open a new window that looks like a brand new, uncustomized installation. (Your existing Firefox window(s) should not be affected.) Please ignore any tabs enticing you to connect to a Sync account or to activate extensions found on your system so we can get a clean test.

Do the problem site(s) work any better in the new profile?

When you are done with the experiment, you can close the extra window without affecting your regular Firefox profile. (June2020 will remain available for future testing.)

IMPORTANT: Creating a new profile may change your default. If your regular profile has a Set as Default Profile button after this test, click that to make sure your next startup doesn't yield a surprise.

Can you attach a screenshot ?

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Here are the screen shots

If this doesn't work sent me a link to previous versions of Firefox. Everything was fine until I got the so called new and improved version.

Thanks foe all your help

Rowshan
