why has privacy badger icon been removed from my ribbon? How do I get it back?

I used to be able to click on the badger and specify how it dealt with each site. That seems to be no longer available to me

Are you in a Private Browsing window, or Always Use Private Browsing Mode, or Never Remember History and is Privacy Badger allowed to Run In Private Windows?

Hello Fred Conklin,

"why has privacy badger icon been removed from my ribbon? How do I get it back? "

Would you ty this please :

3-bar menu => Customize Do you see the icon there ? If so, you can drag it back to the toolbar (assuming that by "ribbon" you mean "toolbar" ..... )

Do you still see Privacy Badge as an installed extension on the about:addons page ?

You can check for problems with the extensions registry files in the profile folder.

Try to to reset the extensions registry and rename extensions.json (extensionsOLD.json) and rename/remove previously used extensions files like extensions.ini and extensions.sqlite when present and rename/remove compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed.

New files will be created when required.

See "corrupt extension files":

You can check for possible updates in case of issues.

  • click the cogwheel button (left of the Search bar) on the about:addons page to "Check for updates"

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Don't know why I am running in private windows all of a suddent. But letting badger run in them works - so I am going to not bother with why I'm running private now and just do some work Thanks
